Rideau Optometric - St. Laurent Centre

Very satisfied with the service at this clinic! Super friendly staff and the doctors do everything they can to fit your needs. Their protocols for COVID really made me feel safe and I really felt like I was in good hands! I wanted to try contact lenses for the first time but was really nervous. They were very thorough with explaining the process and I even got trained on putting them in/out and taking care of them! Could not have had a better service! Will definitely be recommending this clinic to my friends!

I wouldn’t even bother to rate because that was the worst experience & service I had received at this location. Even the doctor wasn’t polite and didn’t check me very well. They cost me lot of money for nothing. I would never go there again.

Was taken right away at time of appointment, tests were thorough and optometrist and technician were amazing. Despite the outcome, The optometrist was extremely knowledgeable and booked me into the eye institute the following day due to retinal holes and tears.Thank you for being caring and comforting during my exam and results.

Extremely rude! I booked by phone for an eye exam for my daughter and I! I was missing my daughters health card! So they told me exactly 8 times to hurry up to get them the card number to garanty her appointment! At this point we were choosing frames in advance! I think it is at this point I mentioned that this would be by ODSP and their whole demeanour changed! Anyway buyer beware, these people are strange and rude!

I just tried to book an appointment for my 3 year old daughter and she was refused as she cannot wear a face mask. I explained that it is not mandatory for children under 5 (or anyone with a medical exemption for that matter). The receptionist said she was following government guidelines which is COMPLETELY NOT TRUE. First establishment that has ever refused to provide us with service because my 3YO cannot/does not wear a mask. I've been to many places including her doctor's office and dentist without any issues. Very unethical.Edit to add that I did email Caroline the GM. Her reply on Google makes it appear as though she wanted to resolve a misunderstanding when there was NONE. Unfortunately she was very condescending in her response back and just wrote me paragraphs about how they had to follow the rules... to confirm, we were refused service until the pandemic is over.

Dr. Sammak and the technicians were incredible. Thorough, kind, gentle and compassionate. Dr. Sammak answered all my questions and provided me with great information. I feel that I now know more about my eye health than I ever have before. The environment was very comfortable and clean. 11/10 for sure!

The women at reception were lovely and helpful, both over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, Dr. Song was the complete opposite. She was cold, dismissive, and definitely needs to work on her bedside manner. She raised her voice at me multiple times which is completely unprofessional. I left and am not sure if my prescription is correct as she kept changing it without re-examining my eyes. I will be finding another optometrist to conduct a follow-up eye exam.

I would only point out one aspect of my visit which was unexpected and that was the cost of the exam. At $160.00 that represents a double in the nominal fee over a period of five years, since my last exam. Could you please ensure for future clients that they are aware of the cost via email confirmation of their appointment. I do understand after the exam experience however, that your upgrade in eye exam technology necessitate this increase. Otherwise I was thoroughly impressed with your staff's professionalism and their ever present reassuring and kindly disposition. Well done Rideau Optometric! 5 out of 5!

I've been a client of Rideau Optometric - Rideau Center with Dr. Butler for a decade or longer (I don't know!) and I was very happy with him and confident in the results of the eye exams. I was hesitant to see another Optometrist because I was very comfortable with Dr. Butler (I give him 5/5 stars). As life would have it, my family and I moved to a different part of the city and we decided to receive services at a different clinic more convenient for us.My eye exam at Rideau Optometric - St. Laurent Centre was done by Dr. Goli Sammak and I recommend this location and this Optometrist.The front end staff were incredibly organized and helpful. I also appreciated that they submitted the payment to my insurance company so that I didn't have to.Dr. G. Sammak was incredibly thorough and actively listened to my complaints. Her demeanour and desire for precision (redo a test to determine if what was in the image was an artifact or something to note) made me feel comfortable. I also valued her explanations to my questions. I rate her and the clinic 5/5 stars as well.My daughter (almost 2 years old) will be getting her first eye exam with Dr. G. Sammak and so I will have to follow-up with another review. Stay tuned!

Store discriminates against the disabled.I am on ODSP. I understand the limitations of the program, and so when I booked an appointment online, it was with the expectation that I would have to pay out of pocket for most, or all, of the cost. When I was called today to confirm the booking, I was asked if I was on OW or ODSP. I said I was, but that I was willing to pay out of pocket. It didn't matter, they still cancelled on me.
