The Fabric Snob Winnipeg

I really used to LOVE this store and was so exited when they opened their Winnipeg location. I find such joy in feeling fabrics and dreaming up ideas on what to do with it. They had a little kids corner where my daughter could play while I browsed and felt different fabrics.However since their expansion, you can’t touch or ever see the knit fabrics I use to make clothes. The sales person tried her best but after 2-3 bolts, I got the feeing I was wasting her time and I was even told I would not be able to get a certain fabric that day because they were only cutting online orders. It’s really too bad. I used to really look forward and plan my trips to that part of the city to include a stop into the store.The fabric is great and I might go back to ordering what I know online, but if I can’t touch or feel the stretch of a fabric I’m not going to buy something new online.Like I said, the fabric is great quality but I miss the experience of shopping in person. I really hope they figure out their layout and allow for full in-person shopping and don’t just do online orders.

I’ve shopped their online store, but there’s nothing like being able to touch the different fabric options. The store is very spacious and well organized. The staff is very helpful, with one employee helping me find thread colours when my baby was fussing. Best selection of quality knits in the province!

Amazing first in-store experience. Nicely laid out and labelled, friendly, attentive staff - worth the short drive out of the way. Very satisfying to be able to see and feel the different substrates and colours in the real.

Very nice store mostly quilting cottons but they have a lovely selection of knits and a small selection of woven. Staff is lovely and it's clean and well organized.

Decided to stop by while in the area, terrible customer service. I found a bolt of agf in the clearance section and asked if it was in fact 50% off, the worker confirmed and then cut my order. We went to check out and it rang up at full price, she said to not worry and that she would correct the price and just needed to let her manager know. And then after speaking with the manager she switched gears and would not give it to me at the sale price she hd previously confirmed twice. Very disappointing.

Great service and fantastic selection. We came close to closing and weren't made to feel rushed. Will be back again!
