Excellent spot to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The dawn and dusk are absolutely incredible. It's the home of several trumpet swans, goose and ducks. We saw many visitors near the pond and river fishing. The beach was spectacular, so calming and serene. Would highly recommend visiting. However the parking spots are limited i am sure summers would be crowded.

Beautiful natural habitat to trumpeter swan families, blue & grey herons, deer, mink, Canadian geese, mallard ducks, turtles, salmon and other varieties of fish, you name it…I’ve even seen an American Bald Eagle flying overhead on a couple occasions!

Nicer beach along the lakeshore trail. Some folks are fishing in the inner water, while trains roll over from time to time.

A beautiful beach. There has been some work done to make the beach a little more people- friendly. Seems to be more beach area. There are fantastic opportunities to photograph some different water birds, I've seen ducks, swans, geese, and heron here.

Beautiful place for a walk by the water, great beach area, currently under renovation. Lots of geese and seagulls so watch for bird droppings. Soft sand and clear water when it hasn't rained in a while. You'll catch some folks even fishing from time to time from the comfort of their lawn chairs

Visited Rouge National Urban Park, specifically Rouge Beach and Marsh, on a summer weekend and let me tell you, it was an absolute oasis of tranquility. This park is truly a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and serenity. The beach is well-maintained, and the waves gently kissing the shore create a soothing ambiance. The best part? Free parking! Although the parking lot in the outer area requires a little walk, it's worth it for the peaceful experience. If you prefer convenience, there's inner parking closer to the beach, but it does tend to get crowded on weekends. Portable potties are available throughout the park, ensuring you're comfortable during your visit. Just a friendly heads up, though: there's no BBQ allowed on the beach. But don't worry, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy. You can embark on a peaceful hike along the boardwalk, marvel at the beauty of the marshland, or even indulge in some relaxing fishing. There's something for everyone here.In conclusion, Rouge National Urban Park, with its free parking (albeit a short walk from the outer area), pristine beach, marshland, boardwalk, and train-watching spot, is an absolute haven. Whether you're looking to unwind on the beach, explore the captivating marsh, or simply take in the beauty of nature, this park has it all. So pack your fishing gear, grab a blanket, and get ready to immerse yourself in the sheer bliss that awaits you.
