Harbour Light Campground

2 motorhomes camped here for 5 nights and it was our favorite rv park we ever stayed at in 9 years of rving! That was in 2002! When we first arrived the owner greeted the 4 of us with free ice cream bars and told us to go pick out 2 sites and since it was about lunch time he said to get hooked up and have lunch! We got settled and went to the office to pay for our sites and the owner asked how long we’d be staying and we said we weren't sure 4 or 5 nights! He floored us by saying well no use paying twice just pay when you leave!!! That has never happen in my 78 years of traveling! This park has tons of activities but we spent most of our time site seeing so when we went to pay during the late afternoon on our fifth day we were floored again when he said we missed all the activities so he was only going to charge us for 4 nights! Can you believe this great guy! We live in Long Beach, CA and unfortunately we haven't been back! Another great thing about this about this park were 3 other components! There were a lot of kids around but from inside our rv we could never hear them and they never set foot on our site! One night we were talking to our neighbors in the site behind us and asked where they were from and how long they planned to stay? Turns out they both lived in Pictou (about 9 blocks away) and she owned a beauty shop in town and he worked on the ferry to Prince Edward Island! They spent the whole Summer there because it was a great place for there 2 kids with all the activities for the children! And finally (sorry this was so long but every word is true) the first site on the at the entrance is a Memorial to one their regular kids that passed away at the families home! Who does that kind of thing? They do!!! If you are traveling to Nova Scotia do yourself a favor and don't miss this place! I have 3 places in the world that if I sell everything and move to they would be Ireland, New Zealand and Nova Scotia! Why? The people in these 3 places go out of their way to make you feel welcome!!

Great campsite! The owner is super friendly. Amenities are clean and the sites have everything you need. Great views and the beach is beautiful. A must stop if you are in the area. ( + no mosquitoes!!! ) Thank you for a great stay!

Cameron the manager was the best host you could ask for. The staff were super friendly and we felt like family from the minute we arrived. We were rewarded with a few unexpected perks at this RV park that is also very close and only minutes to the free ferry to PEI. We highly recommend and they are Passport America also during the shoulder season.

Harbour Light campground was beautiful. We stayed right on the water in a tent. The campground was very conveniently located to town for easy accesses to restaurants, grocery store and ferry to PEI and Newfoundland.Cameron and his daughter Emily the owner were exceedingly knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Amazing and beautiful. Cameron greeted us with a friendly smile and ice cream sandwiches. Peaceful, dog-friendly, wonderful service, beautiful beach, family-friendly, and great views of the harbor. Family-owned providing service above and beyond, like filling your propane tank and delivering directly to your camp site. Liked our first week-long stay so much that we returned for two more weeks. Great place for kids and adults alike. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great location for the ferry or a ride to town for something to eat. We have bicycles and riding the roads was not a problem. Spots were a bit tight but it really wasn't an issue. We were there 3 nights and people were respectful of each other and it was nice and quiet, very relaxing atmosphere. The owners are great. Nicest reception ever. Very nice family run place. Would definately recommend.

Stayed June 25-June 30th, 2022 in our Class A Motorhome (64ft with toad, 40ft rig). Easy to locate park and good roads in. We arrived the day after extreme rainfall (as per owner, worst they'd had in 40 years). Cameron was extremely friendly upon arrival and took us around in his truck to view the different sites available, while providing ice cream sandwiches. Maneuvering was difficult even though we detached and unfortunately we got stuck trying to get into our spot. Cameron and others were quick to assist, getting a loader (diving under our rig in the mud to hook it up before we could blink) and pulling us into our spot. We caused damage to the grass and felt extremely bad however they could not have been more kind about it. They came and filled in the tread holes immediately and even bought us a pizza, stating they wanted us to remember only positives. UNBELIVEABLE customer service delivered with absolute sincerity. Although the campground is older it was well maintained and clean. The pool was just opened and needed some love but they were very upfront about it and balancing it with kids wanting to have fun on some hot days. Good play area for kids including basketball pad. Wifi didn't really reach our area but wasn't our top priority. Easy access to a large, great beach area. Caution re: the long grass on the path to the beach as ticks were visible everywhere (not the Lyme disease causing ones). Have never experienced such friendly and welcoming people in general, especially the family running this campground. They were always up for a chat and our dog was in his glory receiving a treat every time we passed the office. This was definitely a positive experience and we would stay longer in the future. Have never felt so welcomed away from home. Highly, highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely wonderful. We arrived without a reservation on a long weekend and the owner greeted us immediately in a very friendly manner.They were fully booked but after finding out we were self contained and would be fine without any services he told me to have a seat. He came back with two icecream sandwiches which he handed to me and asked if we could use 15 amps electricity and to follow him. When we were at our “site” and asked how much we owe him, his reply was nothing.This is definitely the best Nova Scotia hospitality and we can’t be thankful enough.

Such an awesome campground! The owner makes you feel at home as soon as you enter the campground and is always around if you have any questions or need assistance. We loved collecting shells on their beach and even got to see a jellyfish! Highly recommend this place!! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
