After being diagnosed with severe keratoconus and chronic dry eyes, I’d pretty much given up on the idea of being able to have comfortable, crisp vision. I can’t explain how much my scleral lenses have improved my vision and overall quality of life thanks to Dr. Thakrar. I’m incredibly grateful to her for her patience, thoroughness and care to get the fit and vision on my lenses just right.

Dr. Thakrar and her team have made such a difference to me. I have had eye problems for years and was able to get the right contact lenses and help with my dry eye challenges. Dr Thakkar was recommended to me by my Corneal surgeon. One last chance at better sight through my contacts, before a possible transplant. I have had issues with contact lenses ( redness, blurry vision and over all unhealthy eyes) for as long as I can remember. I have been to so many doctors in the past 20+ years of having Keratoconus. I embarked on vision therapy due to experiencing various difficulties with reading. Upon researching the symptoms, it became likely that either convergence insufficiency or binocular vision disorder might be the underlying issue. So I reached out to Vaughan Family Vision Care for an assessment. Dr. Nguyen conducted a comprehensive assessment of my vision, diagnosed me and suggested vision therapy.Overall, I underwent three 10-week sessions of vision therapy, during which progress was somewhat gradual. However, notable improvements began to manifest towards the end of the therapy, particularly in terms of my reading proficiency, retention, and stamina. I am exceedingly satisfied with the results achieved and wholeheartedly endorse vision therapy for individuals who identify with the symptoms associated with convergence insufficiency or binocular vision disorder. I also highly recommend Vaughan Family Vision Care, as their exceptional staff and services surpassed my expectations.

My experience at Vaughan Family Vision Care was above and beyond. All staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I was sceptical as I had a long drive for each visit but well worth the travel. I would do it again in a minute. I was amazed how my vision improved with just a few treatments(IPL). I’ve seen Dr Thakrar for close to 4 maybe 5 years now and went to her right after I got cross linking for Keratoconus.She worked tirelessly to fit me with scleral lenses and her skill, patience and caring is beyond measureUnfortunately I was in a specific subset of patients who had significant higher order abberations or visual distortions such as ghosting, halos and glare with normal sclerals.Dr Thakrar then started working with Boston sight to get wavefront technology in her office which she now has and with these lenses most of the distortions are gone and my quality of life is amazingShe is the only practitioner I know anywhere close in this area staying absolutely up to date with these emerging technologies.I will probably be seeing her until the day she retires and she legitimately saved my life!I beyond recommend her and her practice for Keratoconus but also other visual needs

I was struggling and struggling with my Keratoconus for over 15 YEARS! Finally, one of the many doctors I saw asked In all this time and all this money you've spent you haven't tried Dr. Thakrar?" If you have severe dry eye/MGD, you need to see Thakrar and here’s why.- I’d gone through 4 doctors who tried different things for my severe MGD (lipiflow, serum tears, restasis) and they made no difference. Dr Thakrar offers a much larger variety of treatments than any dry eye doctor I’ve met.- Dr. Thakrar’s IPL is the only thing that has made significant improvement for me.- Dr. Thakrar is not your typical medical professional. She listens to you with compassion and speaks to you with respect.- Dr. Thakrar has professional integrity. She started my treatment with a very low cost method first in case that could have been the solution. She only moved onto more involved treatments when deemed necessary.- Dr. Thakrar’s staff are all professional, helpful, and friendly.I could go on but this is turning into a novel. Long story short, if you have severe dry eye, don’t despair - let Dr. Thakrar help you.

Excellent service from receptionist, to Sindu to Dr. Thakrar! Though my son’s appointment ran behind, I wasn’t too upset because they kept checking in to let us know how much longer the wait would be. Dr. apologized profusely for the wait and answered all our questions patiently. She’s obviously very knowledgeable and skilled. So thankful we were referred here!
