1840 Guest House B&B
One of the finest B&Bs I've encountered anywhere in the world. The original one-room school house, made of field stone and dating from 1826, is the diningroom and lounge. The rooms are modern and very well-appointed. There is a pool, sauna and hot tub. The hosts are incredibly friendly. And the rates are very reasonable. A treasure.

We really enjoyed our stay at the end of July/2022. The host, Carolyn was welcoming and very informative about the area. We spent 4 nights and each breakfast was delicious. We booked the suite with the balcony and kitchenette, everything we needed was there. The guesthouse and rooms were very clean and comfortable. We also loved the two little dogs who greeted us everyday. Highly recommend this lovely place. We are returning with friends next month.

Everything was perfect. From the clean well appointed room, to the homemade breakfast the next day, we could not have had a nicer stay with a more congenial host. The history of the building was fascinating as well.

Spacious, comfortable rooms, a dining and common space within a 200 year old school house, plenty of amenities, friendly dogs, gracious hosts, and excellent breakfast. You couldn't ask for more, but if you need it, this guesthouse is set in a quiet but lovely village.

B&B is spotless, clean, comfortable but...... the owner has no problem making you feel unwelcome.This B&B has more rules than a courthouse.She keeps an eye on everything you do, (camera's). We were sent to our rooms like a bunch of kids.And not to mention her dogs, barking, running around the breakfast area.

Beautiful House, excellent clean and gemütlich. Breakfast with daily changing special is also nice Idea. I had a very calmed and chilled stay during a rainy day. For those who like: good Wine and Whisky seems to be also important for the Hosts.

This B and B is amazing! Lovely location with a view of the canal and in the quaint little town of Merrickville. The host was very friendly and informative. Loved the antiques throughout the place and in the rooms. Our room was lovely and comfortable and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast also. Will recommend this place and be back again if we are in the area!

Great accommodation, great breakfast. We have stayed at 1840 twice and love it there. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Since our first stay, a sauna, hot tub and swimming pool have been added. We definitely will stay there again when we're in the Merrickville area.

I had never been to a bed and breakfast before this spot and it did not disappoint. It is so clean and welcoming. The hosts were great and breakfast was 10/10. Thanks for everything! Also perfectly located with access to restaurants and shops within steps.
