I started coming to Whitby Audio Video just three years ago because my father came here for his sound system many years before that. I dealt with Scott and he helped me from the start with my first, smaller 5.1 system on my main floor. He was completely thorough with the different speaker lines, value and set up for the space I was working with. Scott and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable. There's a reason why these private shops are stellar in comparison to big box retailers, because they're passionate at what they do. When I started discussing my theater room in my basement, Scott was there from step 1 from soundproofing tips to proper electrical to have wired up.I've gotten Monitor Audio, Paradigm and Sonos products from these gents and I would never go anywhere else. Very highly recommended.

I needed to upgrade my entry level audio system so I went to Whitby Audio.Over half a year ago they let my bring my speakers in and compare them to their stock.Scott took the time to explain and help me understand what I needed to look for as he answered all my questions.So eventually I was ready and went back again they took the time to make sure I was getting what I needed. I then upgraded my turntable as well. I already had a cartridge so they easily installed and set up the table while I waited.Top service and product and real friendly and caring team awaits you when you visit.

An all around great experience shopping here. It is a breath of fresh air to shop at a store where the staff actually knows the products.I came to the store with an idea, that I wanted to get a turntable for my living and upgrade the speakers for the tv. I had no idea what I specifically needed (or wanted), and Michael took the time to show me options, explain differences, explain pricing, and make recommendations.If you want to shop somewhere with friendly staff, no sales pressure tactics, and that are willing to take the time to make sure you find the product that is right for you, then come here. I know I'll be sending anyone that asks me where I got my new living room setup !

I like the vibe of this store. Its high-end to be sure, and if home theatre in a box for you was a huge leap forward in sound and conveneience, go back to Best Buy. But after I indicated I couldnt (just yet) afford a specific audio processor, I didnt get any negative vibe at all, and was comfortable thumbing through a decent collection of new and re-issue vinyl for sale in the store. They also have some cool vintage gear that isn't priced too bad either.There's a bit too much audio cacophany though..various systems playing misic or TV programming for nobody in particular..it'd be a calmer environment if they just let the flagship setup at the front if the store do the talking. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, selling equupment that differentiates itself from the big-box stores.

Dropped an older receiver off to have it looked at and potentially repaired. Said I was willing to spend whatever was necessary. Called every few weeks to see where it was at and was told they are looking into it. Approaching half a year at this point, gave them another call only to find out my receiver has been deemed irreparable and that it would be far to much effort for the gentleman on the phone to tell me exactly why that is. Not surprising for audio store snobs, but disappointing regardless. Would recommend anywhere but here for audio equipment repairs.

These guys are nothing but professional. One of the best customer service experiences I have had and I’ve had a lot this past year moving into a new house. They are responsive, knowledgeable and have competitive pricing. You get what you pay for these days. They will now be my go to for all audio video needs. Thanks fellas.

Went in to buy some speakers and an amp. Scott helped me through the whole process, showed me the options, took the time to explain everything and listen to what I wanted the system for and how certain products are better for different things. Great experience and helpful staff. Definitely will go back in the future for all audio needs

Kudos to Whitby Audio and Scott. Most of my whole home 2 channel system and my surround system came from Whitby Audio. Here's just an example of the great service from Whitby Audio and Bluesound... In December 2022 one of my Bluesound Nodes ( a streaming DAC) died. Bluesound demanded proof of sale by an authorized dealer. Scott searched through his records and located my original December 2016 bill of sale. Scott printed it out for me and I sent it off to Bluesound telling them the story. After few emails, I received a brand new Node from Bluesound. Amazing! We're talking a new $700 streamer six years after the original purchase and five years after the one year warranty expired. This is why you buy from an authorized dealer.

Great experience from start to finish. Michael & Elton were so easy to work with. Once our new outdoor TV was installed they noticed it had a scratch, and had it replaced super quick. Knowledgeable & friendly!

I went in with a broken record player and Michael was a huuuge help!! Super great place with kind people.
