I rented with Mackinnon for a short time before a different rental management company took over my apartment this past month. Despite the change in landlords, I still got charged rent by Mackinnon (getting double charged in rent) and that money has not been returned. My apartment had been repainted by Mackinnon for when we moved in in September but since then the walls and baseboards have gone moldy in areas due to humidity issues and lack of ventilation. These seem to be quick fixes to ongoing problems. The apartment was not cleaned well before moving in. I found dog kibble in the kitchen cupboards, the cupboards were all very dirty inside, and the shower drain was clogged with hair. Besides these issues, they have been quick to respond over email, however, these problems have made me disappointed with my brief time with them.

Rented a parking spot with them and was there for a couple years. Then got given 6 days notice to terimate my parking spot without any reason why. Was told to give back parking tag and would receive money back asap. This was in November and still waiting for refund back and it is mid month in January. Was calling and emailing to get refund back and noone ever responded back to me. Finally, today when posted review is when I received the refund. Also parking lot was never salted in the winter and not properly kept clean. Will never rent from them again.

I rented a monthly parking spot from the MacKinnon Development Corporation for just under a year. From start to finish the process was seamless. A very efficient and professional company; and very timely with all correspondence. I would %100 recommend if you are looking for a reputable company.

Provides good parking and housing for a reasonable price. Great customer service that responds in a timely fashion. Much more amicable than most other housing companies in the Kingston area.

I spent three years living in one of MacKinnon Dev's properties. Good location that was right beside campus. Management and employees are very respectful, neither me or my housemates had any issues with them during our lease of the property. I met Ewen on several occasions as he was quick to respond in the event that we needed him on the property. Certainly got the impression they were committed to delivering a good service. I would recommend them to any students looking for a good place to stay near campus.

My experience have been relatively mixed with this company. On one hand they have very well-maintained and updated properties with great amenities and quick response to tenant needs.However, renting with them will set you back at least $1000/month which is very expensive for the units they offer. Additionally, the staff really pressured us to make a decision on renting their units partially threatening us and forcing us to make a quick decision on one of their rentals (it was quite an unpleasant experience)

Very professional service. They always provided notice of entry and responded to emails in a timely fashion. Their maintenance man, Bryan, was exceptional -- super friendly and proficient. Overall, the property was kept in great condition and Mackinnon did their best to meets the needs of their tenants.

As a former tenant, I am pleased with both the wonderful apartment and the service provided by MacKinnon Developments. The cleaning personnel, landlords, and other staff were always quick to respond to our concerns whenever they arose. The apartment was above par for student housing and in a great location. Would highly recommend.

A lovely company to work with when finding student housing. The apartment was clean, in good condition, and close to campus and amenities. Jessica would get back to me fast and I found the experience of renting from MacKinnon to be great.
