Great view...The chief has Great meals...The cabins are nice

We stayed at Starfish first two weeks in July 2022. The cabin was clean. Had a BBQ and equipped kitchen. Two full bathrooms. Two separate bedrooms (good for our sleeping teens). Beach access was easy. Beach was amazing, The weather was good, and we spent most of our time there walking the beach. Campfires on the beach. We watched eagles swoop and catch fish at the beach.The host Ben was friendly and helpful.Good value. As advertised.

A wonderful stay at Alaska View, just outside Masset, and closer to North Beach! Temp hosts Kathy and Brian were fantastic folks to talk with over the amazing breakfast & dinner that Brian whipped up like a pro! I look forward to returning one day to this clean cozy getaway!

I had the once in a lifetime chance to go to Alaska View Lodge and the whole experience was just fabulous. I want to thank Benz ,a great chef for his hospitality and wonderful meals. As well as Aiden and Catherine for being outgoing and friendly. Overall a grand experience. Thank-you, Jan

I went to the Alaska view lodge for more of a retreat rather than a vacation, although most of the people surrounding me were bird watchers, anglers and even hunters! The lodge is truly amazing even words cannot describe the beauty of the scenery, the lodge is idyllic , just the perfect combination of cute and sweet with a touch of country! Obviously it's the staff that makes every memory here, they just go above and beyond anyone's expectations. If you want something, just ask (you will be impressed with their response) Rarely have I ever been to an establishment and been so pleasantly surprised not only by the customer service but also by the knowledge of the surrounding areas and great food!Benz makes it look easy, just an omelet for the lady no problem, home made jams and patės I couldn't believe my eyes! The whole experience was memorable and although I know they must have slaved for hours chef Benz made it look effortless, as did Aiden his co worker and jack of all trades... As it turns out he's a great chef too! I saw Aiden cook breakfast, stoke the fire and even do dishes and laundry in only 1 hour. Now there's a man to marry! Kidding aside, these men make the experience worth while, there is not a single thing you can ask these guys that they don't deliver on! Be reasonable though please, you are in the middle of nowhere and in order to give you the best service possible they require a 48 hour notice if not moreThey are an exceptional crew. The hot tubs, the view, and oh my gosh did I mention the service!? I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else! The crew made this place memorable, irreplaceable and just too darn good to ever pass up a visit as long as Aiden is there, I will return.Like I said before praise is just not something I hand out lightly, this crew deserves a big hand of applause. I'll see yall soon!

Delightful place to stay and enjoy the beauty of the north coast of Haida Gwai. Ben was a great host and fine chef for our group. I’d love to go back and spend more time hiking and beach combing.

Incredible location, great staff (Stefan, the house keeper) who makes you the besssst breakfasts is very helpful with information. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing stay in the Swan cabin. The cabins are a bit dated, but that adds to the rustic vibe. The cabin was warm, comfortable and had all the amenities required. Hot tub on the deck is wonderful and the beach is right there. Steph the winter keeper was fantastic, friendly and super helpful. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience!

Great place for a staycation - Stephane is the bomb - such killer dinners and brunch and a lovely kitchen side host - and sings!!!

Do not be misled by the description of this location. The building itself is in a state of disrepair. The b&b room on the main floor is dark/musty. Half of the lights in the suite did not work. When we sought out help regarding this, we were handed bulbs to fix them (no employee offered to help)...which did not help as we soon discovered the fixtures were also broken. We returned seeking help at least 6 times as every time a bulb was installed, the fuses blew. Large stains on the couch. We also asked to switch rooms which I hoped would resolve the problems however that request was not accommodated. Large blue tarps on the roof. Does not align with Langara's description of the property, basic cleanliness standards (especially in the bathroom), or the price. The breakfast was good as was the hot tub.
