Standard Furniture

I bought a sectional couch from this store, custom made. Couch arrived with damage to cushion cover. I was also misinformed that I could have ordered the couch to a different configuration. Standard furniture was not willing to take back or work with me to achieve the true measurements I was hoping to get.I found out by calling two different furniture stores that sold this line of couch after. It was very disappointing to have paid 4K for a couch to later then find out I was misinformed and mislead.They were able to get the couch cover replaced by the manufacturer however never called me when the cushion cover arrived so I never got the fixed one. I dropped by the store to see if it had arrived and they pushed me off to customer service, which I found to be quite rude.They have beautiful furniture in the store but be prepared to be sure about your purchase and don’t expect much customer service after or ability to return or exchange.I understand stores have guidelines for return policies but after spending so much money - I definitely would have thought they would have been more accommodating. After all reputation is everything in retail.

Our experience with Standard Furniture has been terrible. We ordered a chair for our bedroom with fabric covering. All was well up to this point. We had put a 50% deposit on the chair. Before the chair arrived at the store we went back to the store to measure the sample chair they still had on the floor. We were concerned that the chair might be too wide to fit through the doorway to our bedroom. We were told that if we paid for their delivery then the guys doing the delivery were very experienced and would most likely get it through the door. Our question was what would happen if it would not go in. Their response was Too bad". Fortunately the delivery guys did get the chair into our bedroom. However the $900 chair looked like a used chair. The upholstery work was wrinkled and unacceptable. We visited the store the next day (Saturday) to discuss our situation and we were told that the folks that handled those situations would not be in until Tuesday. While we were there we walked around the store looking at other upholstered chairs and didn't see any other fabric chair that looked as bad as our brand new one. Then we had to wait until Thursday before we got a callback. At that point we were asked to send photos of our chair - which we did. Then we were told that the wrinkles on our chair were "normal" and it was not returnable or exchangeable. The attitude of the folks at Standard Furniture was unacceptable. We were then told to come down to the store and they would show us all of the in-stock fabric chairs on the floor and they would all show wrinkles the same as ours. As we had already gone back there and looked at the fabric chairs on the floor - none of which was as bad as ours - we decided that it would be a waste of our time. Overall the store does not

Grabbed a floor model chair for a great price and drooled all the way in and out past the very attractive furniture they had set up all over. If I can ever bring myself to buy new and not used, I'll be sure to check here first.

We bought a floor model sectional couch. During this pandemic, it's been difficult to find something without a 3 month wait. Standard Furniture thought ahead and ordered to their warehouse several classic choices, one of which we bought. Sooo comfy!We had our couch for 2 months, and the seat cushions had unexpected wear and tear. It was super easy to communicate via phone and email with them, and we were offered a no hassle exchange.I would bump up to a 5 star review if our new cushions actually don't have ongoing issues after a few more months pass by!

I had a great experience purchasing my new custom sectional here! The staff were very helpful, especially when it came to helping me choosing a color and leg style for the couch... simple thing I didn't realize made such a big difference. I also greatly appreciated that they helped me to make arrangement for delivery of my couch in Burnaby, instead of Victoria.Great experience and highly recommend checking out the store for your next furniture purchase.Thanks again :)

My wife and I recently moved to Victoria and there are a number of furniture stores in the same area as Standard. We visited about 10 in two days, including a store suggested to us by the staff at Standard to ensure we had rounded out our search.I would recommend making Standard your first visit, because as its name implies, it very much sets the standard, which we found none of the other retailers could beat.My wife and I had not exactly settled on a price range for our couch yet, but there are three reasons why we were pleased with, and would recommend Standard. The space was effectively used and inviting. The range of products should satisfy the needs of the vast majority of shoppers. Finally, the most important reason, is that the staff are extremely knowledgeable, very receptive and understanding of one's requirements in a piece, and so friendly! On our third visit, we purchased a couch we are very happy with.

I went to Standard furniture today (August 6, 2018) and was interested in Natuzzi Italia Tratto sofa which they had on a BLOWOUT PRICE of $2,999.00 for the floor model. In the picture it shows the regular price is $5,999.00 (grade 15 leather). I decided to shop around and I phoned Ashley Furniture in Coquitlam and there regular price is $3,430.00 (for grade 15 leather) and for the month of August there is an additional 10% off. The sale price is $2915.00. They only have white in stock but I can order it in another colour for the sale price of $2915.00. I then called Marc the Manager at Standard Furniture and ask if I ordered another colour (same grade leather 15) what would be the price. His reply was $5999.00. Even paying the shipping cost from Vancouver that is half the price of what Standard Furniture is charging.UPDATE - AUGUST 8, 2018In my original post I had 4 pictures. One picture showed the Original price $5,999.00 the Sale price of $3999.00 and the Blowout price of $2999.00 (Floor Sample). That and other pictures was removed from my posting.
