Came in at 4 asking to speak with a manager. Could see her laughing and chatting with colleagues. Then the manager, Allison, comes up to me at 4:28 and says “I only have two minutes to talk to you and then we close”. Never in my life have I worked at a customer service job and told someone I can only help them until our closing time. If I start helping a customer before close, that help doesn’t end when the clock strikes a certain hour and I certainly don’t start my conversation with them by giving a timeline of how long we can talk. Any good customer service representative would patiently listen to a customers concern instead of rushing them out of the office. I will be informing my friends and family who use scotia to stay away from that bank and especially this branch because the way she started handling this issue before she even knew what it was, was extremely unprofessional.

If I could rate this any lower I would. I have been through the ringer with this bank. Unable to contact anyone at the branch the countless times I've called. I was informed when I opened my account that I would be receiving 10,000 scene points. Later to find out that I received 5,000 and nothing more. I was under the impression that I would be receiving the points in increments as instructed. That was in January, fastforward to June. I spoke with a customer service representative three days ago who informed me that I was misinformed when I opened my account and that I was only to receive 5,000 points. He told me that I would be credited 7,500 points for my inconvenience, that it would be in in 1 to 2 days. I spoke with a representative this evening to check the status of these points, only to be told that they have no record of that conversation. After listening to multiple representatives talk in circles and transfer me repeatedly, I was told that my only option is to speak with the person who opened my account. The same person who I have not been able to reach since January when it was opened. The level of customer service and disregard is appalling. I would NEVER recommend this bank to anyone!!!!!!!!

Worst customer service by the lady assistant manager. I had an issue with my forex card and manager behaved as if I were a fraud and faced quite a lot of problems that day because of her. Although , the tellers knew the right thing to do the manager kept saying same policy like a radio again and again. Already have raised the issue with the customer care of Scotia . Never had a problem with tellers till date . They are very sweet, but the assistant manager is an outright rude professional.

It is hard to use their ATMs here after office hours especially on weekends because the homeless hang out and sleep inside. I feel uncomfortable and unsafe doing my banking with strangers staring at me, begging. I don't mind giving money bit I also do not want to support their drug problems because yes, most of the time, the money they receive from begging is used to buy their bad habits not to buy food. And there's competition among them on who gets there first so it could get tight inside. One time someone brought his cart inside and was tampering with the ATM. Other times, the stench lingers even after they leave. I wish they will do what other Scotiabanks do wherein they lock the door and the account holders can get access by inserting their ATMs in the slot. I'm sure they are aware about the situation because there are cameras but I guess they don't care about the safety of their clients.

Went to use the ATM advertised for 24 hours and I was unable to get in after walking there.I don't know if it's the card reader or my card why or what but I wasted a good 30 minute walk in the middle of the night to try and pull out some money.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life!!! I'm trying to complete a simple wire transaction and I've returned to the bank 4x this morning and have been fed mis-information after mis-information. This has waited 2.5 hours of my time and is still not resolved. If and when it is resolved, I'll likely have to book 1/2 day vacation simply because of the gross systematic incompetence. If I could give a negative star rating ... they would be a 5!

They give huge hassle when you want more than a roll of quarters in change. Whereas royal Bank will change money for you without even needing an account there. I have someone who visits me from the USA and they can change money there with no issue. Scotia is going downhill fast. I've had pleasant experiences but also enough frustration there that I wish to not deal with them again.

Please train your staffs properly, everytime I come they all act like they are new. The people who helped me doesn’t know how to do currency exchange and close an account. And when I said thank you- there is no response, no smile. I know everyone has to go to the bank so you guys don’t care, but please train your employees.

I have been having problems with my credit cards. the first one they couldn't stop a charge so I had to cancel after spending 3+ hours on hold. Never did receive replacement. the second card was used unauthorized so after 2 hours on hold had to cancel. this time I had it sent to branch. still haven't received it and currently on hold to find out why. I have never experienced such poor customer service. Want out! They don't deserve the 1 star
