The Alex Community Health Centre

Highly recommend. They’re a great resource for just about anything you can think of. I’m especially impressed by the doctors at this facility, as they made me feel actually listened to for the first time in years. They are kind and abundantly generous, and I’d be happy to recommend this to any of my friends or family.

Amazing staff bridges the gap from homelessness to fully housed for Calgarians! One of the umbrella businesses is Pathways to Housing or Home Base which supplies subleases for those needing housing subsidy. Offers medical service like RN lab work in home and counselling by clinical counsellors. Doctor's on staff include psychiatry and MD. Justice workers on front end. Social workers supply supports and work with housing subleases. Highly recommended if you ever are down on your luck!

I loved their service especially for being there my first time. I was able to walk-in and get an appointment right away for the same day. Later I got a call for my results and everything! I’m so grateful for this clinic and how quickly they run things.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for the staff at the Alex they have literally saved my life they have done more for me in the last year than anybody has ever and they all my life to them I just want to say thank you guys and keep up the good work it’s not unappreciated that’s for sure I woke up in the hospital didn’t have a clue what was going on and these people were there for me and they saved me they literally saved me and I thank them from the bottom of my heart! They don’t judge they never make you feel like you’re unworthy they just wonderful people I don’t know word be without them honestly don’t know where I’d be thanks guys

I started coming here when I was 15. Back then, things were better. Staff were humble, except Judy, she's always had a chip on her shoulder. Since then, they've moved to a new location. And with it, a new attitude. And I don't like it. The staff are condescending and fake. I've seen them go through so many youth workers, one has to wonder why. Back when things were opening up and restrictions were lifting again, they remained stuck in the covid world. And in doing so, they ignored the main portion of clientele they had, the most vulnerable ones. I particularly recall a time when it was plus 38 degrees outside and I was hoping to enter the Alex for a small bite and to cool off. No notice on their website, Facebook page or even on the door stating they would be closed. It was absolutely disgusting to see that while I was dehydrated and struggling, these guys were off screwing around. Times have changed.

They need to hire staff locally and they should be able to speak the language either English or French not just their own tongue dialect I can barely understand those barely speak English over the phone,

I have grown up with this clinic and have never met more caring, compassionate and kind staff. I am so deeply grateful for their ongoing care. After 29 years and never a bad experience, I am happy to be a patient here. Thank you to Kathy, Marie, Veronica and all the amazing people who work for The Alex!

Was told on a Friday to come in on Monday for a check in with a doctor when I came in on Monday I was told to come in on Wednesday ended up going to the hospital because I was not going to wait even longer to be seen by a doctor, they should be more specific about telling patients if they do not have walk-ins I would have booked an appointment on Friday for Monday in that case, I really think that they should be more direct with patience that go there. Because it was just a big waste of my time and I did not appreciate that, would not recommend.

I've been going here for over a year. The staff are fantastic. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Lots of things to do here!

This is a really awesome community-based Healthcare, social-supports, low-income housing, and The RAAM Clinic - which focuses on those in need of help for addictive behaviors.They have great family doctors, nurses, therapists, and almost anything else you could require, all at this one location. If the doctor orders blood work or anything, you can get it done right after your Doctor's appointment, and save yourself the stress and time needed to get this done elsewhere.I would highly recommend The Alex Center. I have had very good experiences here, in multiple different areas of life and Healthcare.
