Koenji Whisky Bar
This was such a wonderful experience. The food was perfectly balanced and prepared with an option to spice it up individually. This is the best real food that I've had in a long time. Care and skill was apparent in everything we ate and drank. The staff were kind, helpful and happy to share their knowledge of the top shelf items in the bar as well. We will definitely come again when we are in Wellington. Thank you all for exceeding our expectations.

I enjoyed my time at Koenjy Whisky Bar. I started with a white beer and had 2 different whiskies, and price for whisky was reasonable. The fried cheese was interesting. There were a lot of interesting food items that I would like to try if ever I am back in Wellington.

Lovely dinner, tapas style, on a hot evening. Our original destination could not accommodate our group but we were redirected to this sister restaurant. We found even with the limited window two children, and three adults could find many delicious taste adventures. We even found most options were available as gluten-free which was greatly inclusive and appreciated. Will come again for one of the six glass whisky flights!

Amazing food and cocktails. Pretty much everything on the menu can be made vegan, and we indulged! Every item was different from the next and so tasty. The vibe inside was super cool and makes a great date night or evening with friends. Would highly recommend

Service was great. They have a small patio in the front and lots of seating inside. Highlights were the fried spicy tofu, vegetarian gyoza and the chicken wings. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of were the noodles but that could have been due to personal preference. We didn’t have roomFor dessert but it looked great. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Excellent food, great service and the cocktails are sublime! We tried the wind, beef potato curry and kushiague. Plus anything they make can be made Gluten free. Go there, eat there, love it there!

We had the chance to try Koenji during its soft opening, and it was fantastic. It's a beautiful spot right in the heart of Wellington - they have a Japanese small plates menu and an extensive whisky & cocktail list. The food is delicious (the chef spent time in Japan) - we had savoury pancakes, beef tataki, and Japanese fried rice - everything was delicious. I can't wait until it's open for good and we can enjoy some whisky cocktails in the space.

A small jem not far from sandbanks. We stopped by without a reservation, on our way back home and got an amazing service. The drink was surprising, and the food was great. We tried almost everything on the menu and the chicken wings were amazing! We ordered two more because it was really good!!
