The Source

As a Haliburton local I have been dealing at Halco -The Source- for over 30 years and have had nothing but good experiences. I'm a senior who often needs help selecting the best device for my needs and often to get things set up the service and ongoing support is well above the norm in my experience. Just this week I was 5 minutes after closing time to do a pick up and the store was dark but the manager saw me and still made sure I got my order - try that at Walmart!!

Friendly staff but not very knowledgeable. The business hours also seem to vary. Sometimes they randomly close especially in the summer. I have to shop out of town as they will close usually Saturdays and not even make up for it by opening on a Sunday.

A nice gentleman advised me over the phone how to point my Bell satellite dish. Got it working. Thank you!

Drive 40 minutes to Halco Electronics for a TV they have on sale. (Shop local) 4 in stock as I was told by the clueless attendants. Then was informed the sale price is only if it's ordered in. If I want the one in stock it's full price almost $200.00 more. Absolute joke, driving to Walmart in Bracebridge to support the money machine.

Absolutely wonderful service. Recently experienced a 2-day hydro outage, and my power bank ran out of charge. And fallen trees were blocking my driveway. I called to ask if they had a large power bank - they did - then had to explain that I would try to get there as soon as we could clear the trees. I asked if they would take payment by phone, hold it for me, and maybe pretty-please start charging it for me. The gent explained that they don’t take phone payments (fair enough, that actually costs merchants money) but they would hold it and start charging it. (A neighbour with power was going to charge my other one when I could get out.) Three hours later I arrived at the store to find the power bank charging and waiting for me. They didn’t know me, or whether I would actually show up. Really appreciated that - thanks so much!

Although the store is closed off for browsing due to Covid restrictions, a helpful and knowledgeable employee quickly brought me two different options for what I was looking for and one was exactly what I needed. I was in and out of the store in 5 minutes. So great to have a store like this serving Haliburton residents and visitors.

Awesome place to shop. If they don't have it, they will try to find it for you, or point you in the right direction. Their williness to help is outstanding.

Great customer service! I brought something in to be repaired and needed it in order to be able to work, the guys fixed it so quickly and for far too generous of a price. Highly recommend this store for your electronic needs.

Went online & saw a Roku device for $39.99. In store only. Went to the store was told it was online only. Tried to order it online, but the Halco/Source site def. said it was in store only.Called & Owner said he will not honor the price because it might be a bogus website. The screenshot proves it is not bogus. He made various excuses like buy it at full price from him and then take it up with Corporate myself or wait until he calls head office next Tuesday. I am 4 ever done with this store after 30 years.this
