GJ Andrews

GJ Andrews is an awesome grocery/specialty store in River Heights. While it’s expensive, they custom make a number of items that are well-worth the price. They have a great selection of pâtés, dips for spreading over crackers or crusty bread (e.g., the artichoke and cheese dip is amazing), and desserts (e.g., the coconut vanilla cake is really good). I’ve not really tried their meats, but they claim that their cuts of meat and related products are awesome and I’m inclined to believe them based on what I’ve otherwise tried. They also have a great selection of wines and I have often seen customers stop by to pick up crates/boxes of wine that they have ordered. This place is definitely worth a visit.

They have a great selection of products from specialty salts oils and imported condiments. Tons of cheeses and fresh meat and fish. Also has a different selections of wins . Staff was helpful, when asked but seemed a little stand offish. Especially the dude behind the cheeses. Otherwise would have given them a 5. Definitely will go back again.

Always go here for hard to find items and wines. The butcher at the back has great steak, in store made burgers (try the butter chicken burger) and sausages. As well as a great selection of cheeses. Parking is on the street right out front and could be hard to find at times, but not far away. Kind of expensive but the quality on all items including produce is top notch.

Good meat cheese section, nice wine selection with plenty of unique items plenty of hard to find items and brands

First rate gourmet deli. REALLY good Italian wines... Purchased and tasted 9varieties and all were flawless.

What a hidden Winnipeg gem! Amazing butcher shop, great cheeses and wines. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine.

We hired GJ Andrews to cater our 50 th dinner anniversary party of 30 people.All guests were very impressed with the food. It was all very delicious and generous portions. I would definitely recommend them to cater your next event.

I have been going to this store for their quality products, particularly the steaks, produce, store made garlic butter, and more. I just bought shaved turkey there for the first time, and it’s no doubt the best turkey I’ve ever gotten from a deli. Store roasted maybe, dark and white meat in the package, I’m blown away.Friendly people and great products !!

A few years ago I heard a tale of bad customer service here. Haven’t had issues myself. Sent my 12 year old over on Aug. 9 to buy cheddar cheese. He had never shopped there alone. He is kind and polite. He reported that the salesperson, female, was not warm, was very rude to him and not the most helpful at finding what he needed ( cheddar or mozzarella). For the higher prices I would hope the management would hire staff who goes the extra mile to be kind and helpful.

What a beautiful store. The butcher was incredible. He masterfully prepared my meat fully trimmed and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was impressive. It tasted as fabulous as it looked. Definitely recommend.
