Musée des hospitalières de l'Hotel Dieu de Montréal

Lovely staff fluent in English and French. Very interesting exhibits. Detailed histories of the founding of the hospital and its importance in religious and cultural life.

It was a rainy day and I had the museum to myself. It was nice to learn so much about Montreal!

For $10 for adults, this is a great little museum filled with history of the Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, artifacts of Saint-Joseph, and explores the history of healthcare and health sciences (nuns taking care of those in need at the hospital and running the pharmacy.The first room is a bit of history between the First Nations People + Chomeday. (And Marie De La Ferre and the Hospitallers of Saint Joseph, hospital care).Paintings, carvings, needlepoint, textiles, metal (gold, silver, etc church artifacts) + other relics (personal letters, furniture, dolls, headdress and even a cell" where the sisters would sleep has been set up here) with plaques in French/English help guide you through the history.The second floor is dedicated more to the history of surgery

Great experience just showing how medical and hospitals have changed over the years well worth the time it takes to go round hole family loved the place also it is all explained in French and English. Still attached to a working hospitals very good price from gift shop and you get to see the stairs from the very first hospital in North America.

A really interesting look into medical history! It's interesting to see how much religion and medicine mingled in the past, especially in the hospital here.

Great little museum that detailed some of the history of the area and how the hospital was founded and grew over time. There are some really interesting artifacts including old maps, letters, pictures, and old hospital/surgical equipment.

A beautifully presented museum with a clear chronology of a complicated and evolving history.

Very interesting way to learn about the history of healthcare since the colonization of French and British. Learned a lot about history of nursing which is my profession.

Religious hospital museum. Definitely an interesting visit. The monastery and hospital are still in operation.

Small museum, but a hidden gem! Interesting information and artifacts. I also really enjoyed the exhibit about Mont-Royal.
