TD Canada Trust Branch and ATM

This review is just for the manager here who I felt was borderline racist. I have used TD for over 15 years now and never had any experience like this. My account has always been in good standing and made larger transections regularly. I go in to make a withdrawal of $5000 (which is any branch's max unless they have more to spare) the time is after 4 PM. The teller takes my information, asks for ID which was provided and went to the manager. After 10 minutes of looking into my account, the manager asked for my PR card (which I do not have being a citizen) and then proceed to ask me about my transections in the account. After answering all the questions, I was told that I could only get $3000 because the activity is unusual and suspicious. I asked what was unusual and suspicious about it since I have made a lot larger transections before I was just told that they are being safe. No other explanation provided. I spent over half an hour in the branch, interrogated like I killed someone and still got half of MY money I wanted to take out. I went to BMO the next day (the account I just opened 3 months ago) and was able to take out $5000 with just ID and no questions asked.

I want to say firstly, I understand that you need to put a hold on cheques being deposited that are of certain amounts of money. But I went into this establishment at this address, been a TD Bank member for 30 years, to deposit a cheque from my insurance company as I canceled my insurance as I can no longer afford to drive thanks to covid shutting my work down. The lady takes the cheque for under $1000, and says she needs to put a hold on the cheque because this being the first time receiving a cheque from this company. It's a cheque for under a $1000 and it is coming from a major insurance company!!! And I could really use the money right now as covid times are tough and no clue when I start back up for work. The bank could easily see that I'm financially strapped, see it's from a reputable insurance company and it being under $1000, makes me feel they really don't care. I will be switching to BMO or Scotia Bank tomorrow.

I have never written a negative review in my life until now. I’ve been banking at this branch since 1994 and have been depositing a large cheque at the beginning of each month for 5 years. The bank manager ( who was working this day of July 5 at 5:45) needed to over ride the deposit which is normally the case. She then proceeded to click her mouse over the screen for a few minutes. then looked at me and said “does anyone know you here? Who is this ‘John’ person?” I was appalled. She was rude and condescending. Absolutely disgusting. Not sure who is doing the hiring, but you need to smarten up.After 28 years of banking at the Bronte TD Canada Trust, I will now be banking elsewhere.

I want to acknowledge the excellent service I received this morning. There was a problem with my account, and a gentlemen named Rohan took care of my needs. I could not have asked for a more polite, knowledged and kind person to handle my needs. Thank you so much, excellent work.Marlene Constans

Very slow service. Front people had lack of experience. They don’t deserve good banking.

Managed to change my perception of TD from best bank to a bank that I would do anything to stop dealing with! They made a mistake and a major one involving substantial amount that I am risking to lose . What makes it more of a disaster is that they are treating you like if the mistake is yours and you have to wait and take chances . Now I am looking at ways to stop dealing with TD and switch to another financial institution! Phone customer service is even worse,more than 4 hrs of being put on hold with zeros outcome. They left me with only one option which is to take legal action!

From excellence to mediocrity. SDB ridiculous Unsafe. Door left open for Safety reasons?? After three decades of excellent services the Branch should be closed. A couple of responsible Tellers carry on responsibility includes a doormant Manager. We don't feel safe at this location with two entrances, No Security guard and an open door to the SDB . We feel awful for the tellers working in an Unsafe Environment.

I want to acknowledge the wonderful service I received today at the Bronte branch. Yasmine Shah was very patient, pleasant, professional and helpful.She made an onerous task extremely easy.A great asset to the branch....

I must tell you how very pleasantly surprised I was when an error on my part caused me to have over 40 dollars in charges taken from my account. I was upset but really it was my own fault. I took a deep breath and ask the bank very nicely if there was anything they could do for me. They did- all the charges were reversed and they were nice in return. The customer service I have received at this bank has always been good. I have no issues with any of the staff. This time though they went above and beyond. Thank you - well done.
