Okotoks Public Library

The TRAC app is insanely intuitive and helpful, so get your library card. This particular place offers loads of entertainment, education and wellness material such as movies, quiet study areas and even snowshoe rentals (season dependant of course). I am very happy to have rediscovered the wonderful world of the library and I strongly encourage everyone to visit the super-helpful staff and support an amazingly beneficial part of our public spaces. I haven't been inside the library yet - only just on the grounds around the library for the Okotoks parade and the family festival afterwards. The parade with CANDY is a highlight for all parade goers. Be sure to get there early to find a spot along the route. The festival has a great lineup of family acts on the stage. Activities for the kids include face painting, crafts, hula hooping, and balloon twisting. Accessing the library parking lot on parade day involves arriving BEFORE 10 am. There are benches in front of the building that can be used to view the parade.

Nice Library. It’s small but that’s to be expected since it’s in a smaller community. They have great access to materials, albeit, you may have to wait a little while for them to bring it in from another library, since they are connect to many other Libraries.They have a nice selection of DVD’s, music and magazines. All of which seem to be up to date and in good condition. I’ve noticed that they tend to carry even the most recent book too.The facility seems to be getting a little tired. They do offer plenty of space to sit and read, some tables to work on and booths for private reading or studying. You can rent a room easily for a private meeting, for a minimal fee.They have some excellent artwork around the library with some commissioned works displayed too.They also have items you can barrow such as snowshoes and exploration backpacks. Which is a wonderful idea and a good way to engage the public.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Overall it’s a nice library and a nice place to just sit and read in relative peace.

The Library? Oh yeah, it's great! Great place to escape place. I would also recommend it for kijiji meet up locations. You can't get kidnapped in the library!

New building, with loads of natural light coming in, making the space feel warm and inviting. Wide open and lots of space. Tons of places to sit and read a book or magazine. Lots of selection. Huge area for kids books, in a quieter area away from other sections. There are many video games of all kinds to borrow. Play Station and Nintendo Switch to name a couple. Vast selection of newspapers and magazines. You can even borrow items like snowshoes, and outdoor games.

Great place, wish they had more books on Satanism though and different religions

The library itself is great. Lots of great books for kids and adults! The location is beautiful as well. I was surprised that the yearly membership for a family is 25 dollars. Calgary’s library membership is free. I was surprised that Okotoks charges every year.I love that you can order books from other libraries and have them sent to the Okotoks library. That is a big perk. I love that they have toys you can borrow. It would be great if they expanded that selection though!

We love this library! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They have such cute classes and activities for kids. My girls love to play with the toys whenever we come get books. It's definitely a weekly experience for us!

Clean and spacious new building. Needed a quiet place to study while family was at the house watching baseball. Helpful staff directed me to a great study room. No distractions. I'll be back.
