Dickson Home Hardware

Normally this store is a great place to go for all your needs. Today was amazingly disappointing. The product I needed and I had purchased many many times before was not there. I asked a man for help. He was obviously hung over, irritated to be asked for help and extremely dismissive. I asked if should check back and he did not even bother to check on a computer if the product (which he apparently did not even know) was discontinued. He simply walked away telling me it was gone. Mind boggling rude considering his job is customer service. Big lunch bag let down on a normally great store.

Excellent customer service from Darren!! What a great experience!! I placed an order online and had a problem with it, so I ended up calling the store before I pick up my item. Absolutely pleasant and helpful service from him. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.I usually shop at other hardware stores for household products, and this was my first time at Home Hardware store. It was quick and easy process to pick up the item. The service was beyond my expectation and I know where to shop next time!Thank you so much!! :)

This local hardware store is amazing!!!! Their customer care outstanding. I went in today, vacuum cleaner part in hand. I'd totally put it together wrong and couldn't get the attachment off. In desperation, I sought help from them. VJ was amazing. He was determined to help me and didn't give up. We tried everything but it wouldn't budge , but he said let me try 1 more thing before you leave" and voila we got it apart. Seriously

Great staff, location and product selection!

I was looking to purchase MacAllister's Triple Play Degreaser. I found it online and ordered it from the Homehardware.ca.Unfortunately Dickinson Hardware does not stock MacAllister's products on their shelves. I waited 10 Days for the online order to arrive. I used the product to clean my Stucco and to clean and degrease my Garage Door tracks. Fabulous product! The product is a solid 10 out of 10.I urge Dickson Hardware to stock and to promote theses products. Nothing, and I mean nothing is better to remove grease and caked on dirt and soot.So please start stocking MacAllister's Triple Play and their other products. I want to try the Tile & Grout Cleaner, but to wait 10 days to receive it does not work.The reason I only gave you only 3 Stars, is simply because you are not sticking the product on your shelves.

Spoke to hardware gentleman over the phone, he was very helpful (5 Stars) but when I come in to pickup the product, the cashier wasn't very friendly at all. It wasn't busy and I was the only person there waiting for her. She told the payment without saying a word or looking at me.

Lovely people running a local business, but the physical space itself is cramped and uncomfortable. It's definitely an older store, so there's only so much they can work with. Regardless, the folks are helpful and polite, and while the prices are higher than Home Depot, I understand why. I do appreciate the dedicated parking spot, especially with it being an Avenue Rd business where parking is difficult.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Accepted cash helped me over the phone and in person to find exactly what I needed. Much better than Home Depot who - after trying to call for days on end - told me they wouldn’t accept cash and could only order on their website; which would also take quite some time. Very happy with the customer service and professionalism of the staff at Dickson Home Hardware. Thanks again! I’ll be back for all my renovation and work related needs!

Very disappointing regarding service. Used to be great. Yesterday as I entered the store, a young woman who looked like she was wearing a store uniform stated she didn’t work at the store when I asked her if she worked there. I saw her later behind the desk and she didn’t seem to care a whit that she had caused delay and inconvenience ie totally expressionless. I walked around looking for help and finally found a young man to help. I had to approach him. I don’t know how the owners expect anyone to go to the trouble of going back !!!

I went to this store today, and I received the best service I have ever had by a young man called Tyler. Tyler helped me a couple of weeks ago, and I was impressed. He knew where everything was that I needed.......which is difficult in a hardware store!! Today I needed a wooden BARBQ handle. The store did not have this, and Tyler even went next door to see if I could get one. No luck. But Tyler was able to fashion one from some wooden doweling. Boy that is service. This hardware store will always be my place to go to, thanks to Tyler!!
