I love waterfalls. This one was our favorite. Spectacular views. You can get really close. Close enough to get wet from the spray. You can walk on a bridge and see the falls from different angles. You can also hike an easy trail and see the river and falls from all sides.

The falls are gorgeous and the river is very scenic! Definitely worth the drive to see them. The roar of the water is thunderous and amazing! Be sure to obey the signs to stay safe, the rocks are slippery, people have died falling down the waterfall. The parking lot was super busy, but the trails weren't packed with people.

The waterfall itself was beautiful and breath-taking. The trail has allows you to see the waterfall in different angles and it allows you to see the upper fall and the lower part of the falls. The area also includes plenty of picnic tables in which you could have lunch while spectating the roaring waves. This would be perfect for families that want something simple but stunning at the same time.

Athabasca falls is a beautiful must see in Jasper. The trail is paved, and it is easy. There are some stairs if you want to walk down to the river, and overall it is a beautiful and easy stop for your trip.

If you're looking for short walk and beautiful view, this is excellent. A longer walk is available (a sign letting you know you should be prepared to climb a number of stairs at the start of the longer walk). Saw many people with small children and dogs. I appreciated the interpretive signs along the way. Be sure to heed caution signs for staying in-bounds.

Spectacular falls! Falls are naturally carved by the rocks. Originally it was formed by one of the Jasper’s hardest rock Goro broken into pieces. Today the Athabasca River’s fresh water ice of Columbia ice field links to Arctic Ocean’s saltwater. There are many view points upper and lower for enjoying this magnitude of falls up close.

Even more wonderful in winter than I'm summer—but in any season this place is incredible. Pack a picnic and take your time. Eat it by the lower falls. In the winter the outhouses seem to be closed— so either prepare for that or be prepared to square in the snow.
