I’ve been a member of this club for 5+ years, and go almost every single day to work out, shower and then work from the cafeteria - it’s a nice change from the at-home office.I’m very disappointed in the decline in value we get with the tennis membership: 5 out of 6 courts are now booked for paying classes/group lessons, it’s physically impossible to book them in the system. The regular players are so fed up, that we agreed on our internal Whatsapp that posting an online review like this one is the only way to put pressure: we’ve spoken with the management and people in charge of tennis, and the response is “we can’t do anything, we need to give groups and payed courses priority”.

Highly recommend Midtown Sanctuary for anyone who is wanting to progress on their wellness journey. They have wonderful facilities and the staff are all really friendly and helpful. I love the yoga and Pilates classes. Thank you Susan and Marlene for encouraging me to challenge myself and explore new possibilities.

Very nice place. We went for a massage, fair prices and the service was nice and super friendly staff! The bistro offers quality food at a very fair price as well. Overall good experience!

Update: Diane Saucier the General Manager told me the club ordered new basketballs. Over a month later, nothing. Dozens of request from many members and nothing. You need to do better. There is 1 usable basketball and it isn't as good as the staff ball held on reserve. The YMHA has better equipment management.Less opening hours. Cheaper equipment. Poor maintenance. For the most expensive gym in the city it is sad. This place used to be the gold standard.

There is no way to try the club (you can visit, but not actually use the facility, unless you know a member). The only way to use the facilities is to pay a yearly membership. I'm not prepared to pay an expensive yearly membership without trying facilities first. I would have been prepared to pay a reasonable one-time fee to try the facilities. I would have even considered a one-month paid membership, but forcing me into a one-year membership is big nono. In fact, I would advise against anyone enrolling in a one-year gym/club membership without trying it out first for at least two weeks, to figure out if it suits your needs and your routine. IMO, any gym that doesn't allow for a shorter term trial (paid or not) banks on the fact that many people stop going after a short period, so they want to cash in at the expense of their customer. This is a predatory sales tactic that I don't appreciate.

very bad low quality service and arrogant service and management . I don’t regret a bit my decision to cancel my membership. They have no idea of what’s customer service as their head office is in Chicago and nobody is checking the hotrible management in Quebec.

A week after I bought my yearly subscription, they reduced their opening hours, and increased the guest prices. There's not enough benches in the gym, and the locker rooms are questionably sanitary. I am definitely disapointed and will not be taking back a membership

I have been a member of the Midtown Sporting Club from 2007 until 2018. I loved the Midtown back then. It was vibrant. People and staff were friendly. From 2013 the managing changed and major renovations happened. While the renovations were amazing, the management became far less lenient and pleasant. Yet I would still think of this gym as THE REFERENCE in Montreal back then,. I recently became a member again. I was promised 100$ gift card for referring two people + 2 hours of free lessons which I HAD TO BOOK ON THE VERY SAME DAY OF MY SUBSCRIPTION TO THE CLUB. After 2 weeks of no news I finally got a call back yesterday. (Why the urgency to book it on the day only to get a call back weeks later). Also never heard back about the 100$ gift card lol. Don't promise me something you're not gonna provide. Final comments. The gym space has undergone tremendous and great changes. For the most part these are positive changes. However lack of a decline bench press is a setback compared to previous facilities. Finally, the locker rooms need a bit of an update. Some of the doors are falling off and the showers are somewhat dirty compared to before.

This gym keeps getting more expensive; management keeps worsening. Smells extremely bad in the men's locker room. Was a member for around 20 years now and you will still not feel any compassion from management. Although not currently a member, went yesterday to get a massage but had my bag stolen and management claim they cant do anything about it and cant use the cameras to spot the robber. I am sure HQ wont be happy. My mother also got some of her goods stollen a few weeks back

The facilities are quite nice, and are likely with the cost depending on your tastes. I'm giving a two star review for the high pressure sales tactics, the poor customer service, and the dishonesty I was treated with.I signed up specifically for the classes, and was told that if they weren't to my liking that I could cancel my membership without penalty and I'd have the fees I did pay refunded. I did have questions, and emailed the sales guy as he instructed, but he didn't respond to the emails I sent. I forwarded my emails to summertime ride for a response, but they didn't answer either. The poor customer service really didn't make the place feel inviting at all, especially after I was so clear about my concerns and the sales guy was so clear about how eager he was to help me.The class I tried was worse than any yoga or pilates class I've taken in years, and so I asked to cancel my membership. But no refund was given. Considering the pricing at this place, that makes the cost of that one class over 10x the cost of a yoga or pilates class elsewhere. It's too bad, because there's a lot to appreciate here.
