BMO Bank of Montreal

As I currently stand in line (20DEC22 @ 10:00am) the security guard inside smells so bad of body odour I don’t know if I can even wait here any longer. It is disgusting and smelling up the entire bank!Then the personal banker told me that having sole proprietorship business money going into a personal account was “illegal”. When asked her if she was sure because I was going to quote her on it, she confirmed her answer. Again, I told her I was going to quote her on it and then she spoke with a manager to confirm. The manager confirmed it was not illegal at all but the bank preferred a business account. The personal computer banker also told me I needed a registration number for my business. I told her there was no such thing for a sole proprietorship. Even though she was insistent that there was to me, the manager debunked that as well.She then told me she would call me at 11 AM the next day to finish opening up the account. She called after 12:30 and told me she would be sending documents to sign right away. When I had not received it, I called her back only to learn that she will be out of the office until December 6th from her voicemail…… it was December 21st and I guess she had not changed her voicemail.I started with a free account incentive and was testing out the waters to possibly move all my banking / credit / TFSA / mortgage over to BMO…… seriously thinking twice about that now.

I lost my BMO debit / Mastercard, I walked in here a small line that moved fast. This really nice informative employee Liam was very helpful and nice and quick. This Saturday crew was nice, even on my way out the door. Thanks, guys!

one of the worse customer service reps ever, rude no manners no help, just make life hard...

Go in to cash a cheque i always cash. Ended up getting a signature from the manager to clear it which the lady ends up just scribbling over because she is going to hold it for four business days which is totally ludicrous since I never have that stipulation placed on it. Thanks for marking up my check and not helping me guys (sarcasm)

If I could give Zero star, that would explained my experience much better. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE in this bmo branch. I went in the branch before closing today, and the tellers were showing major attitude by rolling their eyes and not willing to help. Constantly reminding me that they are closing. I have never Ever had such an experience by any bank. I had to raise my voice so they could reluctantly perform what I was trying to resolve . I seriously think management should take some measurements to ensure that their employees get proper training to get some customer service skills. Even though this location is closer to my house, but likely I will not go back.

Absolutely abhorrent customer service. One star review is being generous .I went into the Ritson road branch with my 15-year-old son to open an account so he could have access to direct deposit for a part-time job. He is only 15 so doesn't have a driver's license and his passport is expired. According to Bank of Montreal. That is the only acceptable identification for him to open an account. So we had to link his information to my existing bank account. A bank teller couldn't do that. We had to make an appointment.On March 3rd we went in to give the appropriate credentials to have that done. According to the employees, it would take five to seven business days. Then someone would be in touch with me to come back in for another appointment to get his account started.Today is April the 5th. I have not heard anything about where this stands. I have called the branch and no one ever answers the phone. I have left three voice messages and not had a return phone call in the last week. I have used the staff directory to talk to both employees that I dealt with (Akhil and Samantha) and they are not even listed in the staff directory.I called the customer service line to see if they knew where this stood. I gave them the reference number and it appears that nothing has been done. The process has not even been started.I had to file an investigation complaint to see why this hasn't been done. So now I have to deal with the complaint process before my son can even get the bank account open.My husband has been a client with the Bank of Montreal for 40 plus years. We have our mortgage, credit cards, investments all with the Bank of Montreal. That will no longer be as we are pulling anything financial with the Bank of MontrealI have no confidence that if a 15-year-old cannot open a bank account in a timely manner going through all the channels that the Bank of Montreal requires, that the Bank of Montreal is responsibly or respectfully handling our investments or money.I would not recommend the Bank of Montreal to anyone.

I agree with all negative comments this branch never picks call even never reply you back worst customer services.Someone did fraud on my line of credit and investigation is goings on but these guys keep calling to pay and doing nothing.Now, I am think to close my account with this branch and shif to other bank who take care these fraud seriously

Poor service , never reply to your emails even it was concerning some important documents which was asked to send.No one to answer over the phone even leaving voice mess doesn’t help.This branch should get close otherwise Why trouble people with their money ?

BMO in 206 Ritson rd branch Im well pleased with the employee in the name of Paul , he is very accommodating ,courteous and always smiling.. thank you so much BMO you have a wonderful employee like him.. and sad to say that you have also a very RUDE employee her name is SANEAU something like that... watch her because you may not get new customer because of her.. more power to you BMO and God bless.

This is my home bank for my business& just love them all. Never got any issues with them. Always friendly service. I don't understand why all the negative reviews are about. Been with this Branch over a ago. Never experienced any problems.
