Fiberspark

I oversee a number of rental properties in the Ithaca area. The service and professionalism I've received working with FiberSpark wishes that they had the ability to provide coverage to all of my properties. Outages are rare and communications with their organization are exemplary. If you're currently using Spectrum or another internet provider in the Ithaca area, I would urge you to consider making the switch to FiberSpark immediately.

I would definitely rate this a zero, but I will explain so that no one else makes the mistake of choosing this internet.We were originally excited for the change to have fiber optic internet, but the experiences with this company have made us wish to have Time Warner again (I know, I didn't think it was possible either). After we were told the internet would be ready on July 1st (a month after the original estimate...), it was not until mid-July that some internet was available. Less than a week later the internet was already out for two days and they had to do a temporary fix" by running a cable to our building from the building next to ours. We have gotten no update as to whether it was fixed

Weekly outages and never answered phone calls

Had a lot of hope for this company but it seems like it was just a resume builder for the people involved instead of a legitimate venture. Haven't heard from them in months. What a shame. I hope the fact that this company exists in name doesn't hurt Ithaca's chances for other fiber providers, because it appears as if we're being served when we're not.

A couple weeks ago, my business (Uncle Marty's Shipping Office in Collegetown) gladly bid Spectrum cable internet adieu and said hello to Fiberspark fiber optic. We've been totally thrilled with it since!Fiberspark is a local, Ithaca-based company. Their management and customer service is top-notch and we couldn't be happier with the switch. Fiberspark has consistently been disappointing in the way that they conduct their business. Our organization has repeatedly tried to contact them with inquiries about our plan, upgrading our plan, and cancelling it, to no avail. It's frankly disappointing how little professionalism this company exhibits.

In all honesty if there were a zero star rating I would give them just that. I am a huge supporter of small start ups and businesses which is why I was willing to try out their services for a year, but it was a bust. The company promised fiver optics internet early in the fall (October) yet the fiber optic cables weren't installed until late spring (late April) and when they were installed the service was still unavailable. My apartment mates and I ended up paying Fiber Spark to pay Time Warner Cable for slower internet.Now this wouldn't have been a problem because as a customer you are paying the same price for the same speed, but somehow this start up had worse customer service than Time Warner Cable's resulting in an all around worse experience. To give an example there were several moments when I called the customer service to ask either about spotty internet or when the fiver optics would be installed (at the time it was far past when it was promised) and after two complaints over a week, the costumer service line flat out began ignoring my calls. To confirm that this was what happened My apartment mate called with their phone to complain weeks after (right after I tried calling with my number) and low and behold they picked up so she could complain. Then story would have it, they stopped picking up calls from that number as well.As a basic summary of all that I have written, Fiber Spark will provide you Time Warner Cable's internet (in actuality using Time Warner's internet), but somehow give you a much harder time with customer service. Not to mention they don't even have a permanent base of operations.

Had consistent, reliable internet all year. The install was quick and easy. They even wired an additional cable through the wall to my other room for free. I also trust them a lot more than I trust Time Warner / Spectrum, and their privacy policy states that they will not keep any data or logs that aren't required to provide internet, and that it won't be shared with third parties.

Uptime % is substantially below industry standards. We are in the midst of a multi-hour outage today. Very disappointing. If this was a one-time occurrence, then no problem. But there have been 8-10 outages like this in the last 18 mo. For mission critical equipment, this kind of track record will not suffice.

We moved to a new location for our business and switched over to Fiberspark for our internet and phone as they came highly recommended. They have been great to work with! Very responsive to questions and concerns and their service has been way better than what we had experienced at our other location with a different company. I highly recommend using Fiberspark for your internet service provider.
