Toronto Hong Luck Kung Fu Association

My fiance and I recently got married (we are a mixed couple with me being Chinese heritage). I had asked my other Chinese friends who they used for lion dance, and they mentioned the same couple of folks. I found Hong Luck and specifically Quang online, and am so happy I did. First, they are a community based organization and really believe in the people in the area and are not just in the 'business' of selling to weddings. They may lack a bit of selection in terms of lions to choose from, but we were very happy with the lions we picked. Quang had me come in for a couple of consultations, he answered all our questions and really showed professionalism and a lot of knowledge in the space. On the day of, the whole troop showed up on time and on schedule. They stayed hidden to give guests a bit of a surprise! The performance was absolutely wonderful, Quang had ideas on how to do the performance, with our favourite being the two lions interacting with guests and of course with us towards the end. One more thing is price, VERY reasonable, and again to know that the money goes towards a community focused business means a lot to my new wife and I. Good job guys!

Their performance is really great! They love playing with kids and taking care of kids. We had a great experience and interaction with Jong Luck Kung Fu tonight, my kid kept saying she likes lion dance so much! Thank you for giving such a great memory to us!

It's hard to know where to begin with a place like this. It's so much more than the sum of its parts. The training space is alive with over 50 years of history. You can feel it when you practice. Everyone involved has their own unique approach to the source material, which is very authentic and old fashioned. The Kung Fu styles taught are Choi Lee Fut and Do Pi, both southern styles brought directly from China by the late founder. There are also classes to learn san shou if you're more interested in a modern fighting style. But this isn't a place to learn the most modern techniques and become a prize fighter. It's a place to connect to a community of fantastic people, and to be a part of the preservation of a rich and interesting history. The school is also not-for-profit, so your low monthly fees only go to keeping the place running, no one is paid for their services to the school. All the instructors teach because it is important to them, and you can tell when you're there. As someone with a background in another kind of martial art that's much more business oriented and profit driven, I want to say that it makes a huge difference when something is driven by real human passion rather than money. Joining this school has been one of the most enjoyable decisions I've ever made, and I intend to be a part of it for as long as it's around and I'm able.

Hands down the best decision we made!! We came across Hong Luck Association and specifically, Quang online and from the very first email, the entire process was absolutely seamless!! On the day of, the team arrived on time, had the best energy and made the entire process SO MUCH fun!! Our guests LOVED every minute of the performance and are still raving about it!! The fact that they are not a business but an association is also amazing, as we could feel and see the sense of community they had!An incredible team of performers!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Best traditional nonprofit Kung Fu club in Toronto with more then 60 years experience.They also teach Lion dance and it's the best I've ever seen.
