3 stars because they are kind but the cheque hold policy they use is nonsense. I deposited a paycheck last Saturday and will not be able to access MY money until this monday even though thier policy says hold 4 business days after deposit. Next time I'll go to moneymart and get my money in 10 minutes for 20 bucks. Thanks for the idiotic policy scotiabank lol

They just don't care about customer service, period!Have to wait on hold for more than 45 minutes just to book an appointment with someone at my local branch on Tranquille.Not to deal with any issue on the phone, but following the phone prompts to specifically book an appointment with an advisor. I could understand if it was for questions or having something dealt with over the phone - not that 45 mins+ is ever acceptable - but this is just for booking an appointment on their appointment booking line for my wheelchair bound relative who has hundreds of thousands on deposit with them. Can't book online as I am booking for a disabled person. Very frustrating. They pay no interest and are quick to charge fees, but when we need them, can't be bothered I guess? Closes at 4pm to boot.

Im usually understanding of negative experience and don’t write reviews that are negative but I cannot tell you how unprofessional and careless the service was and still is at this branch!I put in an application for LOC at the branch, I handed my full completed paper application in and I was told to come back in 2 days!I arrived on time for the scheduled meeting, the lady that attended to me couldn’t even retrieve my files I gave her 2 days ago! She asked that I email her of my completed application with supporting documents, I did so! She then proceeded to assure me that she’ll get back to me asap/less than a week time! I waited 2 weeks to give her enough time, heard nothing back. I emailed her back to see if she’s done anything regarding my application (I only wanted an answer that says either its been approved or not approved so I can have a peace of mind), she again apologized and said she’d do it asap, I kid you not it’s been over 2months, I heard nothing back from her or scotia! To say they give a terrible service and show a lack professionalism is an understatement.

Called the call center about an issue. They told me to go to the the branch and to ask for the manager. That the manager will be able to assist me. So I go to the tell and ask for the manager and she comes back with another women. I explained the situation to her and she acts like I am lier, tell me that the people at the call center would not have told me that. So now I am standing the feeling frustrated and humiliated. So I told her that is what they told me at the call center and asked her if they lied. She said they must have because she would not help me.So I go home and call the call center. The women on the phone apologies profusely. She tells me that I was told the truth during the first call and she would email a staff member to rectify the situation. She emails the branch well I am on the phone with her. I wait a week and do not hear from her, luckily I was also givin her contact information.So I reach out to her and she was as nasty and the staff I had spoke with at the branch. She tells me that she spoke with her staff and the people at the call center were wrong and her staff was right. So I asked her So the people at the call center lied then? " She answers me " No we do do that we are just not prepared to do it for you."What an ordeal ... Kamloops North Shore Scotiabank know nothing about customer service. They make the whole organization look foolish."

Ive had a mortgage with them for 6 months and they are supposed to automatically withdraw from my account to pay mortgage on 15th every month. Not one payment has come out automatically. I've had to spend 3 to 5 hrs on phone every month and get told it's fixed only to have same problem the next month. Well this month they took the payment out and then charged me $48.00 for a dishonored payment for the prev month that was their fault even after manager said that was fixed. I'm ready to close my 4 accounts with them and the 3 credit cards I have with them and transfer my car loan and mortgage to a different bank.

I had lately to deal with Cam Waddington, financial adviser at Scotiabank at Tranquil road and I have to say that he delivered a customer service excellent. On two occasions he was very helpful and saved me with his advice and actions a lot of money. He is always fast with his response and without the need of an appointment he managed my issues online which I appreciate a lot. In my opinion customer service at it’s best.

Added a star! Staff here are kind and easy to work with.I set up my business accounts here. While I have had a few issues, I think it is probably due to general lack of staffing.Specifics:When reaching out to Sahali branch to set up accounts, I got shuffled to Tranquille location, the farthest place from where I think I should be banking.There were some issues getting the online accounts due to lack of communication. I had to call their tech line for support and they gave me the instructions. We got it sorted.The accounts came with a free credit card as well but then I got charged a fee of $79. However, they were able to resolve this quickly.

I went into the bank to transfer money from my saving to checkings. They told me to transfer funds from the bank machine as it would save me $5 for a bank fee. I proceeded to the bank machine to transfer $800 from my savings to checking, but there was no transfer and the funds were gone. I went into the bank to inquire. The blonde bank manager was really rude and wouldn't help me. I tried getting my money back every year for 5 yrs and still have had no success. There is no trace of the funds and they will not help me even though I asked really nicely. Therefore, here is my review.

This bank is complicit in theft under $5000. When you go in to get a new bank card and to close a joint account, get it in writing when they tell you that it is closed and the other person no longer has access to the account you use every month. I'd give them 0 stars if i could.
