Calgary East AISH Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped
I also have an autistic child who just turned 18. She also has other developmental disabilities and needed my help with her AISH application which I did as soon as I was able to, 6 months before she turned 18. Her birthday came and went and we have heard nothing. I tried to call several times but my call was never answered and there was no voice mail to leave a message. When I finally got through a little over a week before her birthday, I was told that she had no worker assigned yet and no decision was made. The person I talked to was also quite rude and condescending to me. I cannot imagine, my daughter having to deal with someone like that, considering she is already traumatized by her disabilities and she has an extremely low processing speed and no working memory. She would be so frustrated which I was for sure and I don't have any of her disabilities.I am quite shocked about how our vulnerable people are treated and I am shocked that we have not heard anything on her application even though we did as we were told and applied six months before her 18th birthday! I adopted my daughter from the foster system and was hoping to spare her the experiences that I have seen other youths in the system have when they age out. However, I don't seem to be able to get the supports she deserves. Where would she be if she wasn't with me? She needs the financial support, the health care and anything available to her. Are we pushing these vulnerable youths on the streets? Also, nobody seems to care about the psychological/emotional effect this has on them. My daughter has been through a lot in her young life and already has trust and abandonment issues. The message she keeps getting is that she is not important. Why setting up a system where you are told to get them assessed after their 16th birthday and have all the documentation ready for when you are finally allowed to apply and then, when you do everything correctly, you don't get the result you were promised and there is zero communication nor is there a way to reach someone?!

FSCD Family Supports for Children with Disabilities
Here are some issues:My family has moved several times in Alberta due to work. Every time we move cities, my kids’ FSCD file had to be closed and re-opened with a new caseworker. That takes months and is so unbelievably ridiculous!!If we are still in Alberta keep the file open!! No new contracts and paperwork should be needed!!We are approved for services but there are long waiting lists right now for professionals- so an FSCD contract isn’t much use to us.Also, these FSCD contracts focus on family learning. We did all that when kids were little. What my kids need now is one-on- one autism therapy.Professionals aren’t often available on Sundays or evenings- when many families have time for this.A lot of these in home services operate under the assumption that one parent is at home to host these therapies.I took years off full time work when kids were little to do this- I cannot do that again.Parents should be able to drop the kids off for their therapy appointments. Or better yet, the therapies could be delivered at schools. As for the caseworkers, we’ve had competent people. No real complaints with them. If you are super organized with paperwork, it helps a lot.FSCD is all about the paperwork- even though the point of what they are trying to accomplish is often lost.

This office has been a great help to me, specifically my case worker A.George. She has been tremendous in helping me with my career and more. Always ready to help, answer questions and offer any kind of support. I also want to thank her for inviting me to join the library program where they offer support with a laptop and internet. This was such a HUGE help in helping me get on the right track. Thank you A.George!

FSCD Family Supports for Children with Disabilities
We were accepted into the FSCD program almost two years ago and we continually reach out to our worker who refuses to contact us back. Super frustrating since we were hopeful about the help we would receive with our child with autism and ADHD very disappointed.

Another disgusting government department of privileged unaccountable employees work here. All are rude and condescending and should be fired. All government departments need to be closed and disbanded and private businesses operating in place so that persons that need to be fired immediately will be. These workers all need to be reported so that something gets done. They only help the immigrants and native people in Alberta. Even the Alberta Labour minister is an immigrant to Canada.

Some of the workers here are so rude and condescending that it is actually comical. They cut you off mid sentence because they assume they can read your mind and don't listen to the entire issue before saying they will reconnect or barking orders. I have been given the run around and have had to call numerous times about the same issues because the people answering the phones are incapable of listening. It is understandable that they probably deal with some pretty rude clients as well but there is no need for them to be as arrogant and have such a know it all attitude. Lots of places deal with the public, no other profession would get away using the tone and manners that some of these workers have. Seeking help is hard enough without being talked down to as though you are below the people who are just there to answer phones.

Short Notice Movers Surrey
I recently needed to move and happy I found this moving company. Professional, quick and responsible! The guys came, made an estimate and I really liked that they immediately set adequate moving time, didn't screw up, didn’t try to do overtime. At the time of the move, the team arrived on time. My stuff was carried very carefully. I often move and see how movers are playing for time, everything here was fast and high quality. They are customer oriented and responsible. They even advised how to do it better and faster, so as not to overpay. I am very satisfied and highly recommend!

Terrible phone service, awful help all around. Would never call me back despite how desperate my situation was. And even though child and family services was behind me and insisted I continue to receive benefits in order to help me keep my son in my life the cut me off still anyways and watched me lose everything and did nothing to help me. Did everything I could to ask for help and was turned down and ignored . I still have no idea what happened cause my worker left town and so did her supervisor. Worst experience of my life!
