So happy I’ve visited this gem here in Ottawa, and now will become regular customer! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they were more than happy to answer my questions and help me choose from the selection of pastries and other baked goods.I tried items including the famous Portuguese egg tarts (Nata), a sweet bread (Bola de Berlim), a strawberry tart, and I was blown away by the quality and flavor of everything. The egg tarts had a perfectly flaky crust and a creamy custardy filling that was just the right amount of sweet.They also have traditional Brazilian goods, such as chicken Coxinha and Guaraná Antártica (soda) which was such a pleasant surprise!I highly recommend this bakery to anyone who loves delicious pastries and wants to experience the best of Portuguese baking, of if you just want to feel like home! You won't be disappointed!

Lovely Portuguese bakery with super friendly staff. I tried their Portuguese tarts, Bola de Berlim (custard-filled donut), and Bolo de Arroz (tall vanilla muffins). Everything was super delicious and fairly priced. The place is cozy, and they make good coffee.

A gem of a bakery! Reasonably priced bakery items and beautiful presentation. Made me want to almost try every single item in the store. There are also other Portuguese food products on one side of the bakery and a food order area at the back. So many interesting beverages to try as well. I highly recommend dropping by for a visit. Limited seating available near the entrance.

I love the pastries here because they are so unique and authentically Portuguese. I haven't found them anywhere else. They have a great selection of breads and buns as well. The donuts and pasteis de nata are SO light and delicious. Also, it's so much cheaper than all of the other bakeries in hintonburg.Andre and the others that work there were so patient and answered all my questions about pastry ingredients. They said they don't use any alcohol or lard in the pastry - in case you are looking for halal friendly items! They also hope to introduce some gluten free options soon. Feel like it's a truly community oriented business.Great place for a snack, lunch or fresh dessert/pastries.

We had a quick bite at this place on Sunday - all pastry was so fresh and tasty. The staff is so friendly and polite - very impressive. Place is clean and I would recommend it with confidence.

We strolled in on a Tuesday during lunchtime and I’m so happy we did.They’re a Portuguese bakery with hot food items at the back. Reasonably-priced for Hintonburg and super delicious.I got their 1/4 chicken breast with salad and fries. Chicken was moist, evenly and generously coated in their marinade, and delicious. Fries were evenly seasoned, consistently crisp, and delicious as well. Salad ingredients were fresh and well-cut.I went for some of their bakery items for dessert (two cannolis and a doughnut with lemon custard, I think) and they were so good I ate them all! I was supposed to bring some back for my partner but couldn’t stop myself lol.Also great service, clean, and our food came out super fast (not sure how they managed that but I’m impressed).Definitely coming back soon.

Went here today and bought a few of the pastries. Loved the pineapple tart, cheese cake, natas (pastels) and peach muffin. Okay for the almond tart. Will definitely go back and try a few of the other things that were available. I thought the prices were reasonable. Overall, the service was great. The people in the store were welcoming and inviting. Enjoy this little touch of Portugal.

Unfortunately, a pass for me. Maybe the pastel de nata we got weren't fresh but they missed the mark for me on many aspects (the shell was not crisp or flaky but instead was soggy; the filling lacked flavour). The top of the pastel de nata were also soggy and there was an unpleasant layer of dried custard formed on top because they were not fresh. Not worth the hype. I did not enjoy the donuts either.
