RBC Royal Bank

Aggressive, insulting tellers working there. After I complaint to the branch manager, he apologized for the tellers behaviour but they said: we can’t ask the tellers to apologize from you cause it’s not in our policy. So what’s in ur policy?! Insulting the clients? Being aggressive and incompetent is in ur policy???

I went to this location to cash in a certified cheque from another institution. The cashier simply wouldn’t cash the cheque despite the certification and told me that her cheque reader couldn’t read the cheque due to the holes that were punched out by the certifying bank. I asked her, what’s the point in certifying a cheque if I will have problems with my institution. The purpose behind cheque certification is to speed up the process once you get to the bank, especially for large amounts. I told her to forget about it, I do business with other banks! Obviously, I’m a visible minority and must be pulling a scam! Right?Went to my other bank and it was cashed in immediately!By the way, that RBC location was my home branch…

Went to the bank and thought I had gotten hacked into my account. Turned out it was my own forgetfulness that had trump me until I found out I was looking in the wrong account.During my short time of panic, the tellers (yes two of them were tending to me) were the most patient and accommodating, and their reactiveness was unparalleled. Branch manager was quick to jump in.Kudos to a great team and great service.

The line was getting better and better, even in Ottawa RBC only offers 2 clercks so the manager had to step in and take a few clients. At least he did that. Never go in a rush there

Really good service, when the wait was slow ; somebody came and asked us for any question. Great staff and nice building.

I went in three times in one day. I had to wait in line every time. They didn't fix the problem.

If looking for a mortgage specialist at this location, I do not recommend Corinnea . Long story short, she did not tell me important aspects of the mortgaging process which ended up costing me more money in my home purchase. While I love my new home, I definitely felt she was not looking out for my best interest... plus she got really rude with me when I was searching for competitive rates with other banks which is a completely normal thing to do.

I have been with RBC since I immigrated to Canada in 1992, it is my favorite bank, I love it and never want to change it. Exceptional customer service no matter what branch I have visited in Ottawa, were I lived, same in Montreal were I became an RBC card member. My experience for 31 years was excellent and thats why I wanted to leave my review.I even remember specifically the customer service desk rep. at Bank st. and Queen st. location in Ottawa which was my branch, who was exceptionally helpful anytime I would need anything at the bank, very friendly and knowledgeable, but no matter what branch I would have to go to in Ottawa RBC bank, the customer service was always exceptional. I love this bank and been a loyal customer ever since I immigrated to Canada.

Wasted 3 hours of my time and didn't even fix my problem.

Since they closed the Elgin St. location, RBC has become the most difficult to deal with of all the banks downtown.
