Pilot Whale Chalets

A fantastic father daughter team run this location and at least one other on the North Shore of the Cape Breton Highlands in cheticamp. Their hospitality and professionalism was exemplary! We had arrived as an Offroad ATV and side-by-side group which had left Wreck Cove on the other side of the Cape Breton Highlands. We arrived after driving 175 km and were tired from the trail. After check-in and showing us to our chalets, they even offered to and did drive into town and pick up supplies for our group! We were shocked at the level of kindness they showed us! The chalets were spotless, and super nice! The view of the sun setting in to the ocean was mesmerizing as we all sat and enjoyed the Priceless View! We would highly recommend this location for your next visit, whether a family or a group they are top-notch accommodations matched with unsurpassed scenery and view of both the mountains on one side and the open ocean on the other! Combine this with exceptional management of the properties and professionalism and service, not sure you could go anywhere and beat this! We highly recommend this location oh, and since booking it I have tried two other times to book it again, but I guess the word is out the spot rocks!

When we arrived our room wasn't clean (toilet was even left unfinished!) but when brought to the attention of the lady working she was very apologetic and quickly gave us a new chalet. The reason for the 4 stars is because there was a bit of a smell in the chalet but all knobs to crank the windows open had been removed. Great stay and great location overall.

This was a nice place to stay. The sunset was beautiful from our chalet! Nice ocean views. Pleasent and helpful receptionist. The heat options were lovely for my aged grandmother. She loved the rocking chair and the fact that we could watch the ballgame in the evening. We would come back here to stay.

The chalets were clean & tidy! We had an Ocean View & close walk to a private beach. Each chalet has their own BBQ.Enjoyed our stay very much & highly recommend the place!!

Friendly helpful staff in the office. Chalet had everything we needed, very clean and tidy. View of the area was wonderful.

We stayed at the three bedroom guest house, so convenient & what a view, the Atlantic Ocean right out the back door, we all enjoyed the beautiful sunsets in the evening. Thank you Wendy & Cheryl for the great service, we will definitely be back next year!

Beautiful location with very spacious cabins which were reasonably priced for Nova Scotia. Not overly luxurious but comfortable and clean which was all we wanted. Also very pleased to be able to borrow some jigsaw puzzles for our son during our stay to lessen his boredom when the bad weather hit! Would definitely stay again.

Absolutely a five star for cleanliness & the stunning views! Cottages are very beautiful, it has all the bells & whistles, air conditioning, fireplace, dishwasher, jacuzzi tub, king size bed, hardwood flooring, vaulted oak ceilings. We stayed in number 8, panoramic views of the ocean, I’m sitting her enjoying my morning coffee and watching the fishermen out catching lobster, highly recommend.

Used to love this place, however it is now extremely expensive for what you receive. Booked most expensive chalet at top dollar and only had a half a roll of toilet paper, No BBQ (excuse was because of Covid), but other chalets had them. Our supper we brought was to BBQ, no mention on the site that they were not to be available. The bare necessities for a housekeeping cottage were non exisitent. The spa tub they announce for those chalets are very dirty.Time to make some upgrades for the dollar charged.Very disappointing, this will be the last time I ever stay here.

The chalet was spotless. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The owners were very accommodating with the few special requests we made. The kitchen was well equipped. The chalets are close to several breathtaking trails.for hiking. We had an absolutely wonderful stay.
