Great pet store, friendly helpful staff

I was at Pet Valu about 2 weeks ago and received the most wonderful service from a guy named Kyle. He went above and beyond for not only myself but he had about 5 of us that he was juggling and gave all of us excellent service. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. You can easily tell he loves his job and excells at it!

Do not get hamsters from here. Every hamster I’ve gotten here had a disease or illness or died within a day or 2. This is the 3rd hamster I’ve gotten from there who died in a short amount of time. When they are taking them out of the cage for you to buy they stress them out beyond by just tossing them in the box or using items in the cage to force them in the box, they have 0 patients with the poor hamsters.

The staff there are the friendliest I've ever met. Bought some rat pups for my daughter's corn snake. Always have them in stock. Lots of toys and lots of treats

I'm not from the province, but was here visiting a friend. I'm big into fish keeping and went in to see if I could find anything to bring home plus browse. They had a great assortment of fish that you don't see often I wish I could bring some home. I did notice that the plants didn't look good,and there were unhealthy fish, but to be honest fish get shipped not healthy and things happen. I did find some of the care of the reptiles and birds poor. The employees themselves were great. Seemed very knowledgeable and passionate. I know that the way things are aren't always in their control. Store managers and corporate decide that stuff. I work in a pets store myself. Overall enjoyed the visit.

Decent selection of products and small pets. They always have beautiful Betta fish and some interesting options for aqua scaping vs Pet Smart.If you guys are reading this please order some Panda Corydoras; this household wants some!

I just started in the fish keeping hobby and found all the staff really helpful and knowledgeable. They were clearly busy with cleaning and stocking shelves but would go out of their way to chat / ask if i needed anything without bugging.I had a issue with a tank I brought home and they were quick to replace the missing item with no hassle ( I didn't expect that)I plan to do all my shopping there if possible in the future as most items were reasonably priced

Bright and clean and what we wanted was there.Cashier was helpful and friendly.

The Sydney Nova Scotia location near the mayflower mall is a must visit for any pet owner Dog mom? Cat dad? Fish enthusiasts or reptile lovers ,heck even our avian and rodent friends are catered to here whatever you need this store is sure to have it ,plus the staff is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of their jobs ,very well versed in the aquarium hobby and every other pet variety ,if you're a pet owner you simply have to shop here!
