The Bothy at North Star. I can’t say enough about this place. The hosts, Colin & Justin were fantastic. The atmosphere was spectacular, the staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and recommendations. My complaints to the chief, the food was outstanding and a few of the dishes we had were some of the best I ever experienced in my travels. The overall experience was exceptional and the food certainly exceeded the standards of some of the fine dining in Toronto. Will certainly be back again.

Very good little dinner spot with a great vibe and food.We were very impressed with the quality of the dishes and the flavours in the food. Loved every dish. Scallops in the pasta could have been seared just a little so they didn't taste like boiled scallops in the pasta but other than that, wonderful meal.Make sure you have time before you dine as the food takes a while to come out and this is typical here.

Just had the most incredible dinner at The Bothy! Food was fantastic, service was friendly and live music was such a wonderful surprise! Will definitely visit again when we are visiting Cape Breton!

I really and blown away by The Bothy.I'll start with how beautiful and comforting the establishment is. It's simply stunning! So much character and charm.The food near knocked us off our feet! The blue cheese mussels were to die for. I actually could have drank the mixture they came in! The charcuterie board was perfect to share amongst our table of four even though we got the choice for it being two! My bother had the seafood chowder and he couldn't stop bragiing about how delicious it was. My brothers girlfriend had the haddock and literally praised it throughout our whole meal. My husband and I had the salads. Garden and blouisana, it was so good. The portions are large and everything you eat is fresh from their seaford right to there vegetables. I'd give all my food an easy 5 star! Simply delious and full of flavor.The staff, what can I say?! Well, they made it a hit. They are so sweet, kind, funny and charming. Full of smiles regardless of how busy it was. We we a large party and they didn't miss a beat.Entertainment was great. Great music and laughs.I'm am beyond excited to be going back this weekend and booking a room in the loysibourg local in just so I can stay and enjoy every bit what The Bothy has to offer. This is rating pretty high in my books and I know more from my party would agree.Thank you Bothy and staff for making it a night to Remeber, ❤️❤️❤️

The Bothy is a unique experience in Louisborg that makes you feel like you’re in halifax or something.The decor was different than you find in most restaurants, you can tell they put a lot of thinking into decorating it with wood and black stuff.The staff was right friendly, and attractive too if I dare say.It was sweltering the day we went but they had like 20 air conditioners in there, so no worries about heat inside.Thank god there was no dress code because we all were full of sand still in our bathing suits from kennington cove.I felt like buying a whole we bottle of fuzzy wine for my friends who were down from Ontario.There was lots of food and the chefs must have tried real hard because we ate most of it.There was something I never tried before there, blue cheese muscles. Wow, that was different!My daughter hogged the whole Bree Cheese Wheel and got into my blue cheese too.We paid for everyone and left a really nice tip for the staff because the way they dress there, they probably spend half their check at the mall.I had to increase my credit card limit after I paid for the whole 8 of us, but you know what? It’s a memory I won’t forget!

What an absolute gem to have in Cape Breton! From the moment we walked in we had an amazing experience. The warm greetings, knowledgeable staff and outstanding service are a few of reasons we'll be going back. But, to make it even better we enjoyed well crafted cocktails on the Oceanview patio and had a phenomenal meal! The atmosphere is so thoughtfully curated. A definite must of you are traveling to Louisbourg! Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience.

The most incredible surprise of my trip to Nova Scotia. Colin and Justin of HGTV fame have created a wonderful place by the sea. My partner Greg and I highly recommend this seaside gem when visiting Louisburg.

Thrilled to unexpectedly stumble across this wonderful gem of a restaurant during our travels from the UK! Recognised Justin and Colin from British TV and they were so warm and welcoming. Such kind, entertaining and down to earth folks - as well as their lovely staff. Dinner was absolutely superb and the atmosphere was great. A huge asset to Louisbourg and would highly recommend A++++++++

Can't go wrong with making a reservation here if you have a special occasion, or just want to enjoy a pint and the atmosphere during the live entertainment! There's definitely a place for this type of establishment in Cape Breton.
