First and foremost, there was no conversation as to what time the leveling of the floor will be started. The day was only agreed and there was no mention of the time. It was agreed that it will be done on Wednesday but there was no mention of the time the work. Now I presumed that the contractor will start the work later or after 8:00am as 2 days prior (Monday), the work was done after 8:00am.Let me narrate how the events unfolded...My friend posted looking for me a contractor to do the floor work and have it polished. It all ended getting this contractor as we have seen it his Facebook page that they have results in their work. The owner went to the store to check the area and check the place. Now there were some patches to be made. He qouted me approximate additional for the patches and I agreed. We both agreed and stated that they will do the work and POLISH the floor the following week MONDAY. Now as I have deadline to beat, I asked if he could do it earlier. So they did the work FRIDAY that week.We agreed on the time they will start. I let the door open overnight so they could enter at 7:00am on Friday that week.As the work progresses, less than a quarter of Polishing was done. They found out that the glue that sticks on the floor was time consuming to take out. So the owner mentioned that they will get a bigger thing to polish the floor to make it faster to polish. They did not return that Friday to continue the job when they left.After a day, realizing that it would costly for him to do it. He called and proposed the Plan B which is he will level the floor with new gravel and make it shine. The original one I wanted was DIAMOND POLISHED FLOOR. He mentioned that he will shoulder the plan B at no expense on my side. But they will try it on Monday the following week if the original Plan will still be feasible.Monday the following week they worked starting AFTER 8AM, they realized it still not gonna work. They told me to go for PLAN B and continue and finish it on Wednesday without telling the time they will start the job.It was an idea brought by the owner to shoulder the expense for the leveling. But all of a sudden, he charged me HALF of the leveling price and he will shoulder the half. $2500 he charged me for it for the concrete alone. Thats the amount 50% I paid. I don't know if it is worth 5,000.I pitied him thinking he may owed more to his worker as He wasted their time and I wasted time too. I agreed on paying extra Half of the cost of leveling. Now He did not mention what time they will start on Wednesday and as I have no knowledge about the work, I did not open the store the following night as there will be someone coming in before 8am the following day to open the door either.On the day of leveling, the Owner called me 6.50ish in the morning yelling the door is closed and I need to open it. And he will charged me $100/hour for the delay. SHOCKED as hell, I called the landlord when his people could open the door as he was doing some works there too. The landlord called me at 7:45am and he opened the door himself for them to come in.The owner charged me extra $150 for the delay of leveling from the company plus $50. To get away with this unprofessional contractor, I never mind paying just so he could finish the floor.On Wednesday, he wanted to collect the check. But I found out that the work was like done by an elementary skilled worker. So I did not pay and they promised to fix it the following day THURSDAY. Again, as I am busy and cannot see the whole floor as it was WET. Looking from AFAR, it looks okay with the floor. I gave the check. But I have a feeling the floor was still a mess. But I decided to end the work with this contractor as it will only ruin my deadline for the store. THE OUTCOME was a Dalmatian floor.Learning lesson for me was not being Assertive and just being so kind even on a Condescending attitude of the second party.

Hired Jessie to core a hole through a concrete wall. Was able to come in 2days and job completed very quickly and with minimal mess
