Ongles Florissants

Been meaning to get my nails done here for a long time and finally had time this past Thursday. It was 4:30 in the afternoon and the place was packed, I was told to wait for 15 minutes because I didn't have an appointment. Waiting doesn't bother me but I guess waiting must happen often because they have a pretty big seating area with magazines and free wifi to make the wait less boring.They have so many colours! it's insane. The pink I chose was #341! (I don't think they have 300+ colours but they for sure have around 100).The nail technician had to remove my previous gel manicure because they weren't applied properly, she then trimmed my real nails down to add some new fake nails at the tips. She was very thorough and precise. She took extra care and time to make sure all my nails looked even and smooth. She was just a bit rough though. It hurt more than it usually does and I noticed some of my nail beds bleeding a little.After all the trimming, smoothing, shaping, and etc was done she applied the nail polish. They have some old machines to cure the polish but it did a good job regardless. They don't put a lot of oil on your cuticles after and they don't hydrate your hands with cream either.There is no air conditioning so it becomes very hot inside (they did have fans but only 2 and they were small). This won't be a problem in the winter but with the summer we've been having, it's just too hot inside to sit in leather seats.The price was $45 for a gel refill, no tip included. More expensive than I usually pay but the job was good.

Great experience and friendly staff. 4 stars as I found it a bit expensive for shellac pedicure only - $50 CAD. Regular pedicure is $35.

Got my first manicure, pedicure ever. I don't know how the pricing is in comparison to others, we got Shellac and it ended up costing 80$ + extra 5$ due to a fancier shellac I wanted on 1 nail (same price if it was all fingers... but I just wanted 1, oh well). Also, CASH ONLY, come prepared if you don't want nasty ATM fees.Professional, friendly. My friend for some reason had 2 people working on him and was getting a full on leg massage (we both got mani/pedi) so that sucked a bit that I didn't get that but he did.The other thing is I chose a black, I confirmed too that it was black because I'm good with colors but with that awful fluorescent lighting I wasn't sure, and the employee said of course" when I asked if it was black. Today in the daylight I see that it is in fact NOT black

This used to be my go to nail place but last time I went I felt the service was rude and I may look elsewhere. The people doing my nails didn’t even try to acknowledge my presence. They only talked amongst themselves. I tried to ask about colour trends and they had no interest in giving suggestions. I don’t think they even said hello to me. At the end I gave a $5 tip and the woman said to me “this is what you're giving?” And kind of snarled and walked away. I didn’t think $5 was such a bad tip. Maybe I’m out of touch but regardless, I think at least a polite goodbye was in order if not a thank you.

Unfortunately there is no 0 star review, when I had a business nearby on Laurier I started going with my daughter to this salon until the day I waited for my appointment for over an hour with no one in site to see me, I left and told them ( while the owner sat there pretending to be just another employee) that I would never return. That said my daughter continued to go until the pandemic with no issues. Until recently when they had no one to take her for her appointment and sent her away completely embarrassed saying she caused a scene and would no longer be served. Again the owner sat there pretending to be another employee. If you the owner reads these reviews I left you a message to call me, you never did, so once again I invite you to call me about this. For an establishment that encourages cash payments with no taxes I would think you would be more careful with customer service.
