I’ve been with Scotia for twenty years and the past six weeks has been the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Without naming names, stay away from the mortgage department and senior financial advisors if what you’re asking them to do doesn’t involve making money on their end. I requested a straightforward procedure-removing co signers from the title of my home. They started to play ball with my case. There’d be two weeks of no response even after I’d send numerous reminders. I would try another agent at the same bank, and my requests would again yield nothing. My initial request was 6 weeks ago and no progress has been made. I received two email replies, with promises to follow up, but this resulted in more and more waiting. I have no doubt that Covid will be used as an excuse here, and perhaps it played a small part, but this kind of customer service is unprofessional and inexcusable. Stay away from the mortgage department; they don’t know how to deal with people. Unfortunately, I still need to deal with Scotiabank, but I’ll be doing this at another location.

I have always had a high regard for this bank, however, for the past year it has markedly gone down in its service. I can't even call my own branch to ask if they have received my new credit card. It goes the call centre and you wait and wait and then wait for them to check with the branch if they have my new card for me to pick up! Oh the aggrevation! Times have changed and not for the better. Just another annoying thing.

The bank manager Sam is Ace. Without even knowing the extreme frustrations I was having with their other Scotia Bank location he was happy to assist me with my problem. (the other location seemed to be avoiding or had only excuses for my issues)A genuinely helpful person, you could tell he was busy but made the time to help.He and his team managed to fix my banking problems in a timely manner and kept me in the loop at all times. Great follow up and service.

I wish there was 0 star option to give them. The whole branch is full of rude employees. Front desk people to financial advisors have no manners to talk to their customers. They treat their customers like they are doing some sort of favour to them. Especially the financial advisor Kunal was awful. He was showing no interest in answering any questions and was getting irritated when a question was asked. This has not happened to me first time , whenever you want to ruin your day you only need to come here. I am so getting done with Scotia bank employees . They seriously need to hire better employees.

They lock the gates of their ATM machines as soon as they close. You can't visit this branch late after work or weekends.

Went in to change my name on my credit card account just like I did when I got married and was told I wasted my time and all I had to do was call customer service. They wouldn't even try to help me.Update: went back in while in the phone with customer service as they said it had to be done in branch and I spoke with a different teller (not the older bald fellow), and the lady said yes they could do it no problem and I just have to call Scene in a few days once they process it to request a new card.

Visited today for an appointment, given clear note on my intention, unfortunately I got late due to my work and when I reached, I asked for possibility to meet today, they checked and came to me and talked very rudely saying today it is not possible, I requested saying I can wait if they could check and meet me, then she came along with me and opened the door and asked me to go, It was such an insult and felt really bad.Two weeks ago I opened my Chequing account to credit my salary there and I wanted to check if they can offer me a new-comer Credit card like a secured credit card. I wanted to check with them as my Chequing account was with them.After a pathetic and unprofessional experience with this Scotia branch, I went to TD bank and checked for the same there, and they were more than happy to help me and get it done in 30 min.This is second time I am getting this type of treatment from Scotia that too from different branches. This was very sad and disappointing. I must consider closing my account there and do my banking with some professional banks.

Never a good experience here. The investment lead “Sam” can just squeeze out the bare minimum of customer service. As well as the business account lead. Takes days, or never, to receive any kind of response. Always makes the customer feel unimportant. Very poor communication. Screwed up appointments. There’s a reason why there are so many one star reviews. Doesn’t upper management ever see these or do something about it? Just B.A.DThe tellers are generally pleasant and helpful.

Went into the bank for a legal name change over a month ago. It still was not reflecting on my account so I went back into the bank and they said they didnt know where the documents were and that the woman I spoke with was away and hopefully she would be back soon. I asked if there was a deadline for inputting pertinent information into the system and was told by the manager that there was no deadline. Cant imagine having a job with zero accountability. So here we are a month and a half later and still no update and now another trip into the bank will have to happen. They also said they would call me when the lady was back and its been two weeks with no call. Im thinking after 20 years of banking with scotia, its time for a new bank.
