Another really great experience here the second time around. Burgers were big, beef dip was spot on, fries were hot and yummy and beer keep coming. Servers were also very attentive. It's worth the stop for sure.

The Fox & Hounds is easily the best English pub on the island and a wonderful place to dine. They hosted my baby shower and prepared a custom charcuterie board along with stuffed yorkies and mini pizzas. The food on their regular menu is also divine, we often drive here from Nanaimo to dine here. Wonderful service, great prices, and lovely owners. Highly recommend to anyone in the area

My only complaint is they were sold out of the items we wanted to eat. Nonetheless the other options we chose were good, and the value is exceptionally high compared to other restaurants. Nowadays you can’t find a burger under $15. The burger here was $18 and some change. There are several options on the menu with small and large sizes which is nice for seniors, or anyone not wanting a large meal.Front end staff were helpful with describing menu items. The burgers come with salad and fries - no extra charge. They have several gluten free options, including a bun that came with my burger entree.The beef dip from what I heard is exceptional and what we were looking forward to. Was also hoping to try the chili but that was also sold out. I will return to give these a try.The fries - both sweet potato and potato are fried nicely and have a good crisp to them.Everything tasted fresh. The restaurant was clean and so were the bathrooms. Will be back next time I’m in Ladysmith!

Amazingly dinner on a Thursday night. Food came out as expected and everyone was pleased. Gabby did an awesome job ensuring everyone was well taken care. We will add this establishment to our go to list.

English pub design and fare. We were greeted by friendly staff, they even had Innis and Gunn on tap!! I had the chicken, bacon and brie burger with fries, delicious. My wife had the beef dip and fries, was very good, she couldn’t even eat half! The pub is a very cool place and we will be sure to return next time we are in Ladysmith.

Drove through Ladysmith on our way to Nanaimo and decided to stop for lunch. The town itself is quaint and right out of a movie set. We walked into the Fox and Hounds avd instantly felt like we were in London. The entrance inside the front door is more like your old aunts house than a bar, but once you pass that into the foyer you can't help but start thinking in a Cockney accent. The beers are served pint size, and the food... Well, come hungry and ready for a treat. Real, delicious British food with new specials daily. The serving staff is Top Notch! Awesome decor.

Been stopping in here for years. Food is pretty bad (as in grocery store cheese on the ploughmans: Eew!)except that this is one of the few places one can get a steak and kidney pie. Unfortunately last 3 of 4 times I’ve stopped in I get the cheerful ‘sorry that’s not on!’ Tired of the disappointment, I won’t be stopping by any more. Very sad

The beer is varied, plenty on tap. The food is British pub fare and the portions are big. Unfortunately the prices reflect that. Which is the only thing I can say negative about it. Everything else was good. From the service to the booze to the food it was a good experience.

Only in town for one night. Chose the highest rated pub and it did not disappoint. Steak and kidney Pie was the best I’ve had in a long time. Very Authentic! Finished my meal with Bread Pudding and Custard. Simply amazing. A must try if in the area.
