I have been coming to the University Barbershop for over 6 years now and I feel like I can confidently leave a 5 star review for their extraordinary services. All of the staff are amazing people who are down-to-earth and genuinely nice people who not only respect you and your time, but provide a great high quality haircut! I have been helped by almost every barber here and have never been disappointed with the result of their services. Booking through their website is super quick and easy as well.I will continue coming to the University Barbershop for their amazing service and great people! Highly recommended.

Great barbershop! Usually I don't know how to describe what I want for a haircut but Matthew somehow cuts it to just what I want. Matthew is very friendly and I would recommend him to anyone.

Since I started attending UBC, University Barbershop has been my go-to for quality haircuts. Their online booking system makes it easy to schedule a time that works for even the busiest people, and they produce results that you'll be thrilled with. If you're looking for someone in particular, Matthew is excellent at both cutting hair and jokes - a pleasure to chat with!

I've been going to this barbershop for years. Started in university and 7 years later I still will drive out to UBC for a cut here. Barbers are all extremely knowledgeable regardless of who I get for a haircut (although Matthew is my guy)!I've tried barbershops all over this city, but this place refuses to be beat.

Adding details due to the owner’s comment about them not having any records of my visit to the shop.So this was while I was a student at ubc back in 2019. I booked a haircut and beard appointment and upon arriving, there was another customer that was going overtime. I patiently waited and finally got my turn after 10 minutes. Upon finishing the cut, the barber refused to trim my beard as he was running out of time and had to attend to his previous customer again and close shop. I tried to argue but the two barbers working at the time both started rudely arguing against me and told me that I was late and that’s why I couldn’t get my other service. I had to wait 10 mins to even get my first service started, I’m not sure why they didn’t want to reason with me. Anyway, I felt extremely discriminated against and got treated poorly. At the time I was new to Canada so I didn’t have the confidence to deal with the issue and felt helpless in the situation, especially since I was being told off by the only two workers at the shop. I proceeded to make the payment and they had the audacity to ask for a tip despite the rude treatment and poor punctuality from their side.I always advice new students at ubc to go to other establishments as they deserve to be treated as equal human beings and deserve a good service for the money they are paying.

Great vibe, great folks, great haircuts. The staff comes across as very caring and attentive (not to mention just being a chill hang), and I always leave feeling good. Matthew kills it every time.

My first time in vancouver, getting my first haircut here and after going, i dont need another barber. They handle PoC hair with care and the staff and owner are friendly and personable. Im so happy and satisfied with my cut, thank you again!

Always quality service and always friendly service. Their prices are reasonable, and the products they carry are top notch.They go for quality over quantity, so you won't find every haircare product, but since the products they do carry are superb, that's just fine by me.
