Geek Squad

Brought a 6 month old Chromebook I bought at best buy in due to charging issues. They looked at the out side of it. Plugged in one of the 2 charging ports and just claimed physical damage. And that if they did send it away to double check it would get the same response. Then said it wasn't worth it to fix as it would cost $300+ and would be cheaper just to buy a new oneI contacted HP about it and it is still under warranty, did a few tests and now it's in the warranty process and about to get repaired.If it wasn't for a Xbox elite controller warranty I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN BEST BUY AGAIN!! and I NOW tell everyone to shop elsewhere!!!!

HOW GEEK SQUAD RIPS YOU OFF!!!!I bought a phone from Best Buy, got the Geek Squad warranty, paying month to month for the warranty. 2 years goes by and I crack the screen on said phone. I call Geek Squad for a warranty claim and was advised they'd fix the phone, for a $210.00 fee!!!!! I've been paying $20 a month for 2 years (nearly $500.00 total) and they want to charge me almost the full cost of the repair as a service fee. Uhm, what's wrong with this picture? The cost for the repair at a shop is barely $300. Apparently, in the fine print, the warrant only covers repairs for free for the first year, after that there's a major service fee. What a joke. Don't get any kind of warranty through Geek Squad!!! Best Buy should drop Geek Squad all together.

I have been getting harassing emails from geek squad telling me that I paid $349. 00 and I can’t get anybody to knock this off. I’m tired of this. I didn’t request anything. I didn’t order anything at all. So beware.

My grandmother came in with a MacBook Air, she was having troubles logging in. She gave these guys her password, and they claimed they tried several variations of her password in ‘an attempt’ to get logged in, they said her computer would have to be completely wiped to factory settings and was going to charge her $200 to do so. Worried about what she would lose, she left and called me. I came over to her house and within 2 minutes I was logged into her computer with the same password she had given them and had it up and running. I don’t know what the hell those guys were doing, but it sounds like they were trying to take advantage of my poor grandmother who clearly didn’t know much about her computer. Shame on you geek squad!

Terrible customer service. Not impressed at all

Terrible experience with geek squad services. Was told my service would take 3-4 days and the actual service time was 3-4 weeks and the price is very high for bad customer service and slow repair
