Sophie's Gown Shoppe

Came here today to find my prom dress without an appointment and the service was great, special thank you to Natalia who was very sweet and helpful! Dresses were also lovely and within a good price range :)

I had an incredibly positive experience at Sophie's Gown Shoppe while searching for my wedding dress! With only five months to find the perfect gown, most shops I contacted were unable to fulfill my timeline or offered off-the-rack options. Feeling distraught after visiting a couple of boutiques, we booked an appointment at Sophie's.From the moment we walked in, our consultant made us feel like we were starring in our own episode of Say Yes to the Dress". She took the time to understand my vision and she ended up finding the most amazing wedding dress. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome!!Every visit to Sophie's was a delight

I agree with a lot of the reviews about feeling unwelcome. I communicated my budget and was told right off the bat that it would be difficult to find a dress (which wasn't the case because she kept bringing dresses within my budget). She kept bringing me dresses that I did not like. My family kept trying to tell her I was uncomfortable and not interested in the styles and she would tell them she knows what would look best on me etc. I felt she was getting annoyed with me, so most of the appointment i felt like I just wanted to leave.

Consultant Christina was awesome.I bought the first dress I tried on but I ended up trying 10 on total.I purchased my dress at the Mississauga location, very friendly staff and accommodating hours.Alterations were done in plenty of time.I had tons of compliments.

Had excellent experience at this store! Livia had a similar dress ready for my appointment I was debating between the two and this one was a definite winner. She gave her honest opinion and helped me complete the look with a beautiful beaded sash and veil. Love this bridal look! The store is spacious, friendly staff and a good selection of brand name wedding dresses. Was definitely worth the drive!

Livia helped me out at both my bride and bridesmaid dress appointments and she was the best. She made me and all family members comfortable. She asked the right questions and picked out dresses based on our answers. We were able to find all our dresses here! All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful!

Sophie’s on Dundas was the second stop. Been to many others with other brides previously. We were asked all the key questions, including budget and the ladies actually listened! Didn’t feel pressure to try anything. Given lots of options. Selection was well displayed, easy to browse.Even by appointment only, wearing masks, sanitizing hands didn’t take away from the welcome, service, selection, location.Great selection of dresses and price points!Very impressed! Thanks Sophie’s staff!She said yes to the dress!

Had the most amazing experience at this shop with Livia!She listened to me, made me feel comfortable and in the end SHE picking out my dream dress! Its more beautiful then anything I could of ever imagined! I'm going in for my first fitting at the end of August and cant wait! Thank you so much Livia!!

I had an appointment this past weekend with my bridesmaids and maid of honor. When we walked in we were greeted in a nonchalant unfriendly way. When I told her my name, the clerk didn’t say anything which left us confused as to where to go or who would be assisting us.The staff member who served us didn’t seem too interested in us however, she ended up being a tad bit warmer throughout the appointment.When I booked my appointment over the phone, I was asked when my wedding date was and was told that I had plenty of time to order our dresses. In the store, one of the employees (I’m assuming she was a manager) advised me that we didn’t have enough time and we would have to pay either $50 to rush them or $100 to put some sort of extra rush on them.I told both employees I was advised that I had plenty of time over the phone , and then they changed their answer advising the turnaround time was only 3-4 months - meaning I actually did have plenty of time. It seems to me that this store has some sort of sales target that they need to meet and they wanted to make an extra dollar anywhere they could.My bridal party found a few dresses that they liked so we asked if the staff could put their dresses on my file as we wanted to be sure on the dresses that they chose. The manager (I assume) said she couldn’t put anything on our file, unless we guarantee that one person was putting a deposit to purchase that day. Once again, seeming like there is some sort of sales target that needs to be met.We already had 2 appointments that day and both stores put our chosen dresses on our files so we could potentially call back and order the dresses Should we choose them. That process was the exact same at the remaining stores we went to as well as at all of the stores I went to for my wedding dress.It is common sense that people shop around a different stores and look at different designers. I advised we would not be putting any deposit down as we were not 100% sure. I asked if they could once again put addresses on our files for their records and they said not without a deposit.I said in that case we will not be purchasing anything as none of us have made any final decisions, and that I wouldn’t ever be returning back to the store. The employees could care less.We ended up leaving feeling super discouraged, unwelcome, and felt like our time was wasted.Ultimately, it was a horrible experience, out of the 5 stores that we went to (and the countless stores I went to when shopping for a wedding dress) Sophies was the most unpleasant and unwelcoming environment. It was actually the ONLY store that we had a negative experience at.I would not recommend a bride or bridal party to shop here. This is supposed to be a fun experience with your girls, and the employees at the store really put a damper on our mood.

Sophie's Gown shoppe was great. I had a panic attack and cancelled my first dress. They were very accommodating and allowed me to choose a different dress. I was very happy with the whole experience and I definitely recommend them. Jasmine was there every step of the way to make sure I was taken care of.
