My wife loved this place and I found the woman working there really helpful and friendly. She knew a lot of interesting background to the dies they carry but didn't bother us while we browsed. I'm a photographer and always enjoy the contrasting colors in shops like this.

Such a lovely shop! So nice to see the stories of the artisan's represented in the textiles and goods. Quality handmade gems. I have acquired many pieces of clothing and hand stitched quilts over the years, the pieces just get better with age. Staff are lovely, they are very well educated in the products that they sell. Well done Maiwa;)

This store is visually pleasing and I like browsing here. I do find it quite expensive though. In reading the other comments, I would like to point out that the owner does not seem to know how to handle her customers. There are a lot of complaints about rude service and they are not addressed. There is one comment complaining about the owner's response and I am appalled to see evidence of body shaming towards a customer. At this day and age! When I owned my own business, I was very aware to treat my customers with respect. This owner needs to learn to respect their customers if they want to stay in business.

I just received a beautifully prepared box with duvet, pillow cases, postcards and booklet. The presentation was so special and unexpected! Like Christmas in June. The quality of the duvet and pillowcases is top drawer. Thank you Maiwa for answering my questions before purchase and then for the speedy packaging and delivery.

I went in yesterday looking for natural dyes. The staff put up with me neurotically going through all the dye sample binders. Place is AMAZING. Didn't think shops like this existed.

I really like the aesthetics of the store. A must stop for anyone visiting Granville Island. One of a kind products, taking into consideration the dyes and materials use. A very thoughtfully curated selection of goods perfect for gifting!

If I could post 6 stars I would! What a beautiful place + pleasant atmosphere not to mention the ethics and all that they stand for as a company. Staff is always helpful, friendly + accommodating. If you haven't been, i definitely suggest it!
