Vida Eyecare

The doctors here are absolutely amazing. Everytime I’ve been there I left with a smile. They’re very nice and have incredible attention to detail. They’re very thorough and knowledgeable. I would have given five stars if not for the fact that I found their lenses to be very low quality. I paid extra for the anti-scratch, anti-glare however, I got a scratch on one of the lenses within 1 week of getting my glasses. I had them replace it and got a second scratch (this time on the other lens) about 2 months after that. Unfortunately, I have moved to Saskatchewan so not much to do at this point but pay for a replacement. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 12 and this is the first time ever that I’ve had scratches on my lenses. It’s not like I mistreat my glasses I’m pretty blind without them.

I've been going to Vida Eyecare for for awhile now and they've always had great service. This particular occasion was unusual in that I had taken a softball to the eye the evening before. They repaired my glasses for a nominal fee and even gave me an eye exam to ensure that there was no permanent or worrisome damage done. Extremely helpful, courteous and friendly staff and Dr. Karen Lee maintains the same high standards in the practice as Dr. Gloria Lee (no relation). I'm very glad to have found such great eye doctors in my area!

Dr. Gwendolyn Wong is an excellent optometrist. She's been with my kids for over 2 years now and examination has always been a breeze. Her bedside manner is excellent with the kids. She makes them feel empowered and at ease. My kiddos (as she calls them) truly enjoy their time with Dr. Wong, and in many ways look up to her as a female role model. The admin staff is easy going and very accommodating - they will communicate with you in your preferred method--- phone, email, text--- just ask. I also appreciate that their products are not over priced. e.g. eyedrops. I hate the feeling of buying a product at a retailer only to find out later that I can buy it for cheaper online. Overall, if you're looking for a straight forward, no fuss, modern clinic--- especially if you have a simple case, I would recommend Dr. Wong and the team at Vida Eyecare.

Came here for an eye exam and was thoroughly impressed with the service. Their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable with the way they took me through the preliminary checks. I had my exam with Helen who was very thorough and provided suggestions on which contacts to wear that would be suitable for my day to day life.I would definitely recommend coming to Vida if you are looking for glasses/eye exams as they easily top all my previous experiences with other Optometrists.

March 26, 2020I’ve worn glasses in Canada, England, and France. In Canada, I’ve visited optometrists in Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver. Vida is at the top for careful and generous service.Let me explain. The Vida shop is on Broadway West. It’s now five years since I started using them. In that time, I’ve had two eye exams and one referral to a specialist. The exams went beyond the usual testing for short or long sightedness and distortions in vision etc.. But there was no extra charge billed either to my insurer or myself. Vida referred me for a particular issue to a specialist, who determined that there was indeed a problem, and that it was useful to have me on his patient list in case something needed attention that fell in the gray area between an emergency and a routine visit.The other point about Vida is that glasses sometimes need adjusting, a lens falls out, or you just want to change your frames. I’ve had exceptional and free service and plenty of free advice, even when the result was less money in Vida’s pocket. Basically, I’ve come to trust them. When the advice sometimes is to spend less, and the optometrist gives cogent reasons, there’s a chance that you’ve lucked out, you’ve found someone who will tell you when something looks good or not, when you really need something or not. Trust matters to me.I don't give unmixed reviews. Nobody is perfect. But it's hard to find a fault here. The goodnatured assistance at Vida seems technically adept and genuine. And the price is right.If things change, I’ll post another review. Meanwhile, I see no reason to withhold five stars from Vida. I recommend them without reservation.

I phoned around to several places looking for quotes and availability for an eye exam. Vida wasn't the cheapest but I was so impressed by their phone manners in comparison to the other places I'd called that I booked an appointment for the following week.The appointment/test went great and all the staff were pleasant, and helpful. The optometrist took the time to answer all my questions and I left there with the best impression of them. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

I have been experiencing a rapid decline in my eyes over the past year. As a result I have been to see my eye doctor several times, and purchased several paid or glasses. When I went to see Gloria at Vida I took four pairs of glasses with me, none of which seem to be helping me see as well as I'd like. Gloria was very reassuring she could take care of me. it turns out my prescription from my original eye doctor was wrong! I am so relieved something can be done. Lindsay helped me find frames I love, and my new glasses are ordered. I am so relieved. I strongly recommend VIDA Eyecare. The service and level of professionalism is outstanding.

Got exactly what I wanted, how I wanted it. It was quick, easy, and friendly.- Location: The physical place was nice, clean, and tidy. They also had an interesting chart detailing how eyes work.- Service: Friendly and well explained. They tell you pretty much everything you need to know. The doctor also feels happy which is nice.- Eye Exam Quality: I've only had one so I don't have any references but there was a wide variety of stuff I did and it was done professionally.If you want to get an eye exam, I would recommend this place.

Very professional. Dr Lee took very good care of me after my cataract surgery. Initially, I just wanted to get new glasses after my surgery but Dr Lee determined that all I needed was reading glasses. No pressure to buy from them. Very pleased and satisfied. James at the front desk was very helpful and courteous. I have another follow up appointment with them. Highly recommended.

I've used them for myself for several years, but this morning I took my baby and toddler for the first time. Everyone was patient and welcoming. They were so engaging with my 3yo that he didn't want to leave. Thank you!
