Best Mexican restaurant in the city

My favourite food in the whole city. The pulled pork is my go-to and I could drink the salsa verde straight.The only issue is that it is a little bit hard to find and there's not really any seating, but they're so good it's worth going out of your way for!

Most amazing tacos in Fredericton! There is nowhere in town that can beat this authentic Mexican cuisine. Today was their last day open. I will miss them greatly! Good luck on your new business venture.

This place is absolutely a secret gem of Fredericton! The food and beverages are absolutely incredible and the two owners are super kind and easy going. Definitely the best tacos I've ever had!

Best burrito and guacamole ever

It's probably the best place to eat Mexican food around Fredericton. The restaurant is located inside The Ville. It's a tiny place but the food is excellent. They take cash and credit and the prices are decent. The employees are really nice. Oh and the drinks are awesome!

Everything on the menu is delicious in its own way. Korean BBQ hibiscus veggie tacos, corn chips and guacamole is my go to. Get the cold hibiscus tea. Truly a hidden gem in Fredericton.

To say that King Pakal is a hidden gem is an understatement. First, drive out of Fredericton into Marysville to “The Ville”: a not-for-profit collective operating out of an old middle school. Then, make your way through the school to an old classroom with a small take out counter in the front. Outside of this room, you’ll find the menu for King Pakal. Here, you can order your food at the counter to either bring home or eat on site. Note that they don’t have seating of their own, but there are some free rooms with tables and chairs elsewhere in the building.The menu is 100% Mexican: tacos and burritos with choice of meat, nachos with fresh salsa and guacamole, plus some specialty items. On this visit, the extra offerings included shrimp ceviche and squid tacos. My highlights were the fresh chunky guacamole, the juicy and well seasoned braised beef and pork, and the housemade hibiscus iced tea. My only wish would be for fresh made tortillas, but for great quality meat and sauces, it’s no worry.You can tell that a lot of love and passion goes into the food. For example, we talked about getting our food to go to take home, but the owner advised that the squid tacos ought to be eaten right away, as the meat is best eaten freshly cooked. I really hope to see this business succeed. In the meantime, I was happy to hear that they already have a repeat customer base.
