Excellent food. And though it was busy and it seemed like there was only 1 person waiting on everyone, she did great! Looking forward to going back.

Tavern on the Hill
It was a first trip to Tavern on the Hill after hearing good things about this local hot spot from friends in Vermont and Connecticut alike. It was a slow Wednesday evening and the aroma in the parking lot told me there might be something good in store. The friendly staff and abundant smiles were a good start and I was looking forward to diving into food that would put the same smile on my face. While the mood was good and the Tavern offered a great selection of my favorite indulgences at the bar, the food was solid, but not the highlight I was anticipating. As a fan of fried pickles, I'm always looking for a nice twist on the dipped dill, and the tavern had a good snappy taste, but was a little short on serving size and sizzle. The jerk turkey burger -- while lacking in the zing I hoped for with mango and habanero -- was prepared very well, which is no small feat for turkey burger. It was moist, and tasty, but the ginger destroyed the typical mango habanero pop that I was hoping would bring a tear of joy to my eyes. If you're going to put spicy sauce on a burger, make it burn. Anyone venturing into the habanero habit better not cry because they can't handle the heat. Next time, light that turkey up, like a Jamaican joint! Servings were adequate, the fish and chips was more than enough for dinner and a take-out container. The campfire burger (special ordered with the aforementioned mango sauce) was on the bland side, but cooked to an ideal temperature. Was the food something to talk about around the NEK campfire? Not really, but it wasn't so bad that I won't venture out of the woods for another bite. There's more to the menu, and I'll gladly roll the dice on another meal just to see some Tavern smiles again!

This was a decent lunch stop on our way home from Quebec. There isn't much seating, but we were lucky enough to grab a high top in the bar area. The restaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait too long for service or our food. The fish sandwich was very good (and large enough for my wife and I to split), but the fries were soft (I prefer crispy fries). The fried cheese curds were very good, but I expected something a bit more garlicky from the description. Overall, I would recommend trying this place and would return if in the area. I would have given it a 4.5 if possible.

One of our regular places for a meal out. Cosy, warm, and welcoming. A spot for locals and visitors alike to relax, socialize and enjoy some good food, amd on many weekends, live music..The loaded nachos with pulled pork never disappoint!

Great place to eat fish and chips, a burger, etc. Virtually everything on the menu looked delicious. Got a burger with sweet potato fries and friend got fish and chips. Both were excellent quality in presentation and taste. The place was packed. Could barely get a seat and had to move another chair at the bar to a second one to be able to seat two. Friendly staff and environment. Chatted with another person there who told me it was Taco Tuesday which is why it's so packed. It's not open every night due to staffing issues, and the town will have different restaurants open on different nights to account for this.
