Routes Car Rental - Vancouver International Airport (YVR) Off Terminal

The absolute worst car rental experience I’ve ever encountered in my many years of travelling.This company over books their cars and does not have enough fleet. So, if someone is late with their rental you are out of luck.We waited 7 hours for our minivan that didn’t end up arriving. We finally had to throw in the towel and go back to the airport and book with hertz who had us in a car in less than 20 minutes. We missed and paid for two Ferries and lost an entire day of our vacation. Thousands of dollars this company cost us. The waiting room was full of other people experiencing the same situation as us. STAY AWAY!!!

Mehak was amazing.The place is small but it's awesome and what an amazing deal I got on a brand new jeep I find this place to be cheaper then any other rental companies I'll always come back

I rented a vehicle from routes, the vehicle was dirty, stickers and food left in the rear and the tires were so bald I didn’t feel safe, also, not a single panel of the vehicle wasn’t damaged.

Great experience while renting a SUV from them. Shuttle was at the airport for pickup within 10 minutes after call. At the pickup /drop off customer service from Sandeep and Raj was excellent. Vehicle was neat and clean I will certainly rent car from them on my next visit to Vancouver.

SCAM ALERT: Please read the many poor Google reviews for Routes. This place accepts bookings and payments immediately, without verifying their vehicle inventory. Only when you walk in to confront them in person, will they scramble to find you a vehicle - first come first serve, with no consideration for the vehicle type, reservation time, and rental duration that you requested.The storefront and driveway are covered in garbage. The staff is rude and takes no accountability for the lack of organization and commitment to the confirmed booking. Observing the facility and disorganization firsthand, I question their ability to appropriately maintain vehicles and ensure customer safety.During my visit, another couple was also disputing an inaccurate credit card charge. After 2 hours of trying to get the vehicle I requested and paid for in advance, I took an Uber to a big-name rental franchise and rented a different vehicle.Routes purposely does not have a customer service telephone line. You have to email Routes multiple times for assistance. Routes will pretend to have no knowledge of your previous messages and request that you explain your situation each time. This is by design, so you become frustrated and move on, allowing them to keep your money.My recommendation: pay a bit more and rent your vehicle from a reputable brand that will be respectful and honor your reservation. The few dollars of alleged savings with Routes are not worth the risk of not having a vehicle when you need it. Especially for those traveling, choose a reliable organization and don't waste vacation time battling with Routes or starting your trip off with a very negative experience.

I put five stars out of five because the price is amazing, Kia Karnival 2020 was in good shape better than what our friends got for triple price from budget ( Unfortunately our friends were scared by these bad reviews here and overpaid). I don't see any problems to come earlier and be in line to save three four hundred bucks versus other rental companies. I don't like people who are leaving their negative reviewes. You want fast service then pay three times more and don't leave bad reviewes herw. I own my hvac budiness and i know Cheap people bring more complains instead of being thankful for their saved bucks. So we are happy with Routes Services and their price tag. Good job guys and shame on these people who indirectly killing businesses that bring competitive advantage for good thankful customers.PSThe driver helped with luggage and I was happy to tip him. Everything took 30 mins and we are in the airport going back hope.

I have had nothing but great experiences with these guys any time I fly into Vancouver. I typically use Enterprise Rentals for business travel trips but in Vancouver Enterprise always seem empty so I started using Routes.Great car selection and pricing. Very helpful when someone smashed a car window on a previous rental. Very accommodating with reservation alterations. The condition of their cars is often better quality than some of the other rental agencies.The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is I do find I wait to be attended to at the front desk longer than other rental companies. Nothing outlandish, but its difficult if you're in a rush to get on the road.

Not too bad. Just waiting time way too long!!! one hour minimum. It took me 2 hours to pick up a minivan. I rented a small car they gave me a KIA minivan. It's ok just burn gas lol. Returning is okay - top gas, they look around the car check gas and mileage. I take off a star for waiting time, just one customer before us then 2 hours waiting too long to be acceptable. I felt sorry for the people in long line.

I had a pleasant experience overall. The car was a compact SUV as communicated in booking, a little dirty but overall satisfying with its performance and space. Staff (Mehak) was very friendly and efficient, waiting time for shuttle was less than 10 minutes, but the driver somehow dropped us at the far end of the terminal building without asking our airline. The price was attractive and basically you will get what you paid for.

Thankfully they got one star added because the drop off went smooth but the pickup was a different story. We arrived on a Sunday at about 10am. Called the number for the shuttle and waited. After about 30 minutes we called again thinking we missed it. After about 30 more minutes I decided to take a cab to the place since there was no shuttle in sight. We had a group of 5 and wanted to get on the road. When I arrived at the place there was about. 7 people in front of me and 2 people working. Long story short after about another hour of waiting I got the car. I don't know if it was an off day or what but it was the worse car rental pickup I have even had. The workers were trying their hardest but couldn't keep up. Not their fault at all but whoever runs the place needs to get their stuff together. The price was good the car was good but the experience was baaaad.
