After doing a lot of research on this purchase which had to hold up under scrutiny of the wedding photographer and guests, this was not only a great look, but it was definitely the most affordable option by far (renting an outfit would have cost just as much as this purchase, and quality didn't suffer for savings PLUS I now have a kilt in my closet for future special occasions - and when comparing the purchase from Affordable Kilts versus anywhere else there is simply no other place that sells Kilts for even close to the same price). We are very happy and impressed with the kilt and accessories I ordered for my husband. The kilt is beautiful and the fabric is so nice. The price for such great quality can not be beat. The accessories are great quality. However, we were most impressed with the customer service we received from Barry. He went above and beyond to make sure that we received our order in time for our trip to Scotland for a family event. We had a tight time window for a custom kilt. He very quickly responded to my email and even called us to put our minds at ease that our order would make it in time (which it did with days to spare). We will definitely order from his company again.

Barry was an absolute pleasure to do business with! communicative, helpful and fantastically priced products and services - BEST IN CANADA!I'm based in Montreal but was heading over to Vancouver for a week of work including an evening event where I was wearing my kilt.I needed a couple of items (a new belt, hose and kiltpin and not only did Affordable Kilts have the best prices out there - Barry made everything easy for collection at a convenient spot in Vancouver.As good as this was he went the extra mile when I realised on the night of the event that I had forgotten to pack a sporran - I called him and it was no problem for him to help me get something suitable for the event at 0 notice and at a very reasonable price indeed!

Outstanding customer service is only the start here. Barry was incredibly helpful, even though I emailed him in the middle of his holidays! I thought I had waited too long to order in time for Robbie Burns, but he made it happen! The kilt itself is wonderful - good weight, solid construction, and comfortable as all get out. My formal needs are fully taken care of and very reasonably priced.I’ve even ordered a utility kilt for day to day use and I’m quite happy with it, too.Cannot rate Affordable Kilts or Barry any higher than 5 but I would if I could.

Beware of false description regarding 16 oz 8 yard kilts, at best they are 12-14 oz and they are not all 8 yards, it depends on the size, more like 5 yards and up. For the money you get a fairly good light weight kilt but definitely not as advertised.
