Russell Nursery

Today was my first visit. It is quite a drive from in town in Victoria but definitely worth it. The staff are phenomenal. They are friendly and very knowledgeable. I went to look at the fabulous Japanese maple selection. One of their staff members was able to help me choose a new one and to give me lots of helpful advice for training its growth and repotting it. It was the most helpful advice I have ever had on tree care. There is an interesting selection of pottery, native plants, shrubs and many other items. The membership program is $10 and one receives 10% off of most items for being a member. I will definitely return.

Haven't actually visited the nursery but was looking for parts for my Halls greenhouse. Nathan was very helpful in providing pricing and shipping quote to the mainland. Great communication and fast shipping. Will now be able to keep my greenhouse going for many more years. If I am ever in the area I will definitely have to call in.

Love their selection. Never disappoints. Prices are at par with other nurseries. Best of all, is the VERY knowledgeable staff. I really appreciate that given I'm a novice gardener.

By far the best nursery on southern Vancouver island. Their plants are gorgeous and locale I’d beautiful but it’s the staff that sets them apart. Every single one of the team are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. It’s always a pleasure!

Thank you Lindsay for helping us choose the perfect tree for our front garden: You are extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, to say the least. Initially, we had contemplated purchasing a Cornus Kousa Satomi tree and came away with a beautiful Crab Apple tree that is better suited to our front garden due it's elegant shape, rose-red blooms, in the spring and red berries for birds to feast on in the autumn. It's deer resistant, too! Added to this delightful suggestion, Lindsay suggested that we leave our Crab Apple tree with them, their nursery for good care over the dry summer period, ready for us to plant in the fall. ( best times to plant trees, autumn or early spring). Indeed , this is and excellent privately owned nursery that carries a great selection of plants, native to the island that can be delivered to your home. We even bought a yearly membership and saved quite a bit! We'll definitely return for more plants and advice!

I love this nursery: friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff, excellent plant selection, and outstanding service all around. Their “plant search” feature has saved me endless time! Russell has been my go-to nursery for close to 15 years, and will continue to be my first choice. I look forward to every visit!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and very good product. If you are not sure what you need and want to ensure you get good quality plants that have been well cared for prior to purchase, this is the place to go for information and help in making your selection for your garden. A $10.00 annual membership gets you a 10% discount on regular priced items.

I love to shop at Russell’s. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I often buy more plants than I initially intend to because they have such a great selection, the plants are healthy and they often have some unusual varieties. A trip out each spring at a minimum for their slow release fertilizer.

This is an excellent privately owned nursery. Staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The stock is well edited, and there is a great selection of native plants here. They can arrange delivery for large purchases such as trees and if you buy a yearly membership you save even more. Highly recommended.
