Mid Island Liquor

Went there to get a 6 pack of bush. It came to 10.36 with taxes. I gave the gentle man 12$ and I only received a nickel back. Normally it wouldn't an issue. I'm okay with tipping for service. But I was also buying two tally beers and needed the change. When I asked for the change he said I didn't give him a ten dollar bill and a toonie. Which I did... I told him that I did in fact give him a 10 and a toonie. And then he, with an excessive amount of force, ripped my beer from my bag, scanned it. Was pushing his touch screen so hard he was moving it off the table. Then opened his till. Threw a toonie on the ground and slammed the cash register. Then when scanning my tally beers I said I still needed my 40 cents for them. And he told ME that I should shop better and make my choices faster... Even though it has nothing to do what was going on. Like he was blaming me for him not giving me proper change. Which made no sense. As I was leaving he made some sort of insult. I was rather angry and wasn't paying attention. To make matters even worse, he is the owner. So there is nobody to talk to about this crazy bad experience and lack of professionalism. I am never going again. I hope people avoid it. At least at Lucky's they are nice and seem friendly.

Helpful, welcoming staff, wide variety and good specials.

New management has changed the name to Mid Island Liquor. Prices have gone up and staff has changed. It's worth driving up the hill to Luckys Liquor now for better selection and prices.

Best staff on island. Or atleast in Nanaimo. They are knowledgeable and extremely knowledgeable.

Crisp cold and a delicious!

Great pleasure to be here in the cheapest liquor store known in Nanaimo right beside 7-11 infront of departure bay beach bring the family. You can buy cheaper beer here than anywhere else at just 4.50 a bottle. The staff here require Id for every purchase and it doesn't matter if you been there for years remember to bring you're id to keep this place going good. Very nice parking lot with enough parking for you and you're friends right here I also love the country feel of this store location and it feels very family run and owned. Excellent location…..next to a beach. Friendly staff, good prices and not a bad selection for a small store.

Staff is very friendly here. Although lately there has been a big turn around in staff they are all always kind and helpful and cheerful.

As a raging alcoholic who hides behind pomp and pretense i adore the staves knowledgeable knowledge about beers and other succulent and sippable solutions to life's ever crushing presence.this store gets a rating of 5 stars from me. why, you may or may not be asking?1) Always greeted with a smile and a hello.2) Amazing selection of craft beers of which none are sundry, i am short on time, so lumped together they remain.3) Outstanding ability to stand out, gotta love that blue sign.4) free ice ...sign me up, take all my money...LONGLIVETHENEIGHBORHOOD...LONGLIVESMALLBUSINESS
