Modehaus is fantastic. Chelsea really understands the personal nature and significance of a wedding outfit, and her process ensures you are informed and satisfied from start to end. The fabrics she uses are divine, keeping you comfortable and confident all day long. We selected one of her dresses and customized it. She also was game to make a custom jacket to go with the dress to keep me warm late into the evening. I made use of the pockets keeping in them a letter to my husband, his wedding ring, and my comfort food– Tootsie Rolls!Photo rights belong to David Clumpner.

I had a wonderful experience with Chelsea at Modehaus! After postponing my wedding in 2020 and dealing with continuing uncertainty around our new date, I was pretty late in starting the alterations process. Not only was Chelsea willing to fit me in just a couple months before the wedding, she was really flexible with scheduling our appointments (I live in Duluth and was able to fit in my appointments to align with other visits I was making to the cities). Chelsea is warm, professional and the Modehaus workspace is gorgeous and calm. Before meeting Chelsea, I was worried about alterations on this dress since it was such a big investment, but she did an incredible job with the asymmetric seams and was able to fix an issue on the spot during my last appointment. My dress fit like a glove and I received SO many compliments. Chelsea designed an easy bustling system and the bustle stayed in perfectly all night. It skimmed the floor perfectly and my dress actually stayed really clean! I would absolutely recommend Chelsea - she does amazing work!

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Chelsea for almost two years while altering my mom's wedding dress from the early 90's. Chelsea made the entire process enjoyable due to her expertise, creativity, flexibility, and attention to detail. She was always easy to reach via email. Chelsea welcomed my guests and me into her studio routinely to see the progress of the dress / for fittings. Chelsea carefully listened to my vision and provided valuable input to honor the original dress while updating it to a more modern style. She ensured that our alterations were completed within a stress-free timeline. I trusted Chelsea every step of the way and the final product left me breathless. My mom, the original owner of the dress, was also over the moon! Chelsea goes above and beyond for her clients and is incredibly talented. I arrived at her studio with an heirloom gown and left with my dream dress and a new friend.

Not only did I switch my dress on her last minute but she also completely customized the bottom of my new dress for me. She added a slit that was a total show stopper and completely made the dress. She was patient and kind the whole way through with every little change we made. Not to mention she did it all in the shortest time period because my wedding was coming up so fast. I can’t thank her enough!!! :)

Chelsea is one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever met. This woman was so kind and sweet, she tailored my huge ball gown, sequins-filled reception dress, and made my custom veil since I couldn’t find anything I liked in stores. We had 3-4 fittings which started about 3 months prior to the big day and I never felt rushed or concerned. She made both dresses fit like a glove and I am eternally grateful.

What a fairytale experience! I came to Modehaus to get a bridal jumpsuit altered that I purchased online during shut down. After talking through some adjustments that would have to be made, my mom suggested I should maybe try on one of the gowns on display. It was love at first sight! With limited time to get the dress made, Chelsea somehow managed to get it all done in a matter of less than two months. Communication was on point every step of the way and also I appreciate her Covid protocols and precautions.This dress is so comfortable and tailored to fit my body shape. We had a destination wedding and then a party in Minnesota months later. So we decided to go ahead and hem the dress and it is so adorable shortened as well! Chelsea did an amazing job altering my wedding gown and creating custom straps to turn my strapless dress into the dress of my dreams. The straps looked like a perfect part of the dress. Chelsea made sure the dress fit perfectly, shortened it without loosing the beautiful scalloped train, and added a really nice bustle. Working with Chelsea was super easy and I would recommend her to anyone for their wedding gown alterations!

I went to Modehaus to have my dress altered. It was too tight around my ribcage, and too poofy for my taste. Chelsea was fantastic to work with. Over the course of a few fittings, she slowly let out my dress until I was happy with it, and removed the crinoline. I was incredibly stressed when getting my dress elsewhere and realizing it was too tight, and Chelsea was so helpful and calming throughout the alteration process. I also found Modehaus to be quite reasonably priced. If I had to go through it again, I would still choose Modehaus without hesitation.All photos from Alex Rae Photography

Chelsea did such an amazing job on my wedding dress. Not only was my dress beautiful and comfortable, and had pockets!, but the experience was so great. She was extremely timely and willing to work with me on design, despite a relatively tight timeline. Highly, highly recommend!
