This is the worst insurance company. They put me on my parent's policy without my consent although I was just looking to get a quote for my car. They would not remove me from the policy once I got my own insurance because they insisted on having my policy number, which is private information. They place you on hold for hours at a time and their rates are ridiculously expensive. Do NOT go with this insurance company. You will regret it. I am thinking of pursuing legal action against them for taking my information without my consent and placing me on the policy.

3 hours to wait for a callback, 1.5 hour phone call for something as simple as adding a car to my policy and a hour of that was me left on hold while i'm told they'll be right back. Dont waste your time

Good day,My mother had life insurance with the company back in 2010-2011 before she passed away. According to her insurance broker she had back then she cancelled a 250k policy which my sister and I never saw proof of that. Now its been 11 years since she has passed away. Is there a way that I could see proof of this cancelled policy. I have no idea how to go about that. I remember the broker's name but only his first name and the office her worked at. The reason why I'm asking this is because still to this day I have a funny feeling that something isn't right with that.

The worst customer service. If you ever call them you would be on hold for an hour. I am travelling overseas for 42 days and requested them to put hold on my policy while I am gone. They declined because they can suspend a policy for 45 days and not 42 days. When I asked to hold my policy for 45 days then they said they need 18 days notice.I ask them to provide me in this writing that they cant suspend my policy for less than 45 days they declined. They draft their policies to help themselves and not their clients.I wonder what excuses they will make if God forbidden I have to call them to make a claim. Cant wait for my policy to end with them.

I will prefer a negative score. Last January, I called in and cancelled the policy for my car and Aviva didn't charge me for last Feburary but on last March, the company charged me again. After a while, after I called in, they stopped charging me and said they overcharged me with a small amount money after they reviewed. I don't know why they can still charge me after I returned the car and called them to cancel the policy. The same thing happened to the other insurance company, they told me my right and refunded me right away. Aviva, I know you are so big but Lehman Brothers was as well! DON'T USE AVIVA!

The worst service, slow, they don’t call back on time.. I had to fetch documents because I am out of province for me vehicle and home insurance which I had to pay for and documents that are provided by the respected provinces that I lived in in the past over 70 dollars worth of expenses just to provide information. To then get turned away by aviva because I didn’t have my driver’s licence number from 15 years ago! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHO KEEPS 15 years old DRIVERS LICENCES NUMBERS???? I JUST WAISTED A GOOD 3 HOURS ON THE PHONE WAITING AND WAITING EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED ALL THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED!I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO WITH THESE GUYS THE ABSOLUTE WORST BUSINESS MOTTO EVER!PLUS FOR SOME WEIRD REASON THEY ALL SEEM TO THINK THAT YOU NEED LICENCE PLATES BEFORE GETTING INSURANCE? ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?????

Don't apply for this unreliable company. If I could give it a 0 I would. My family and I were with this company for 25+ years and we had NEVER done a claim with them before. Last year we had an incident involving water damage. The snow on the roof melted and got in the house, so we made a claim. Our first claim with them. They came and 'fixed' it. 2 months later, we had water damage once again at the very same spot. We called them to come see it and the repairman said this was caused by the repairmen who came last time. They did not fix it properly and it is what caused this second round of water damage.We asked him what to do because this was their fault essentially and he agreed. He said to make another claim, so we did. They came back and fixed it but we had to pay more out of pocket. What shocked, angered and hurt us the most was that they called us and said we were no longer insured by them because we had made 2 claims. For 25+ years we were with them and this is how they act? We had 3 homes and 3 cars insured under them and not once did we ever make a claim for anything until last year. We called them and went up the chain of command as far as we can go and although most agreed with us that this was disrespectful, it was out of their hands. So we went to Economical Insurance, which ended up being 200$ cheaper than what we were paying at Aviva.

Don’t recommend this company! Very bad customer service! They never replied to my emails! I had a car accident, and they failed to provide me with a rental car for a whole month until my car got fixed. I had to rent from my friend cause I needed to go to work and perform my responsibilities as a mother. They said they can’t compensate my rental, and they don’t even compensate the gas receipts I provided.

I’m sorry Aviva but you have to improve you service. I paid tenant insurance for the whole year few months after I called to make changes they never answered the phone even after 2 hours wait time. I had to go with the personal and pay for a new tenant insurance and I couldn’t speak to them to get the refund.Now they renewed my policy and they are asking me to pay again. Come on improved ur service before u ask for money!!!!

RBC/Aviva cancelled my insurance for missed payment even though it was a mistake and I was willing and able to pay immediately. I did not receive notification of repayment schedule. They took sooo much of my time on the phone not being helpful when I was trying to deal with this issue. They wouldn't even let me cancel the insurance myself so that I could get a decent offer from another provider. just malicious for no reason. I wouldn't take a chance with them, it's been brutal. I've never had a problem with insurance before, and had no issues with claims either.
