They were very accomodating. We missed our scheduled tour but were given seats on the next tour. The boat captain/tour guide was super funny and gave us the full history. The cruise was amazing, very interesting, and like nothing I've ever experienced. If you are afraid of heights, maybe stay away.

Watching boats in the lift locks is aways exciting. Lots of room, great areas to relax, have a little picnic or visit the beach.

Spent the night below the lock. Busy traffic during the day, but quieted down at night. There is a kids playground, splash park, and supervised beach very close to the lock.

We were in a group of 65 kayaks with the Durham Kayakers. The lock staff was very friendly, welcoming, happy and they took pic of us that they shared with the group. We did lock 20 and 21. Lock 21 has a very unique lifting elevator system.

The staff at the locks are really great. The flood lock and lift lock experience was incredible. We were in a group of 70 kayakers and they treated us with respect, humour and kept us safe. It's a fun trip so definitely recommend it.

My home. A beautiful place to visit. Watch the boats go though the locks. If you visit on a Wednesday or Saturday evening in the summer you must see the free concerts in del crarey park. Awesome. Free to look at.

The meandering 386 km Trent Severn Waterway has two lock systems in Peterborough. Ashburnham Lock #20 was constructed in 1896-1900 on the northeast corner of Little Lake. Facilities and services include overnight mooring, potable water, washrooms, camping, and a visitor center. Five hundred metres, north of Lock #20, is the Peterborough Lift Locks. Construction also began in 1896 and was officially opened in 1904. It is one of two lift locks on the Trent Severn Waterway and the largest in the world. The CPR truss swing bridge built in 1898 was originally hand turned. It still operates today and adds another element of character to this historical Canadian site.
