My daughter has been taking vocal and piano lessons for the past 4 years.The school is great and the teachers are excellent.Paul and Lily are my daughter's teachers. They are both very knowledgeable and experienced.The school helps the students get into competitions and complete RCM examinations.My daughter and I are very happy with the school.

They are professional and reasonable pricing with flexibility with two locations. My daughter has Takouhi Kehyaian as her piano teacher.

IMA stands out as one of the best music school in the city of Markham. Renowned for their professionalism in imparting the knowledge and the gift of music to their students.

The school recently relocated to a new unit and while the facilities look quite nice, the teaching studios are extremely small with poor ventilation and no natural lighting. However, there are definitely some good teachers there. Judging by the other reviews it's a bit misleading that the only 'excellent' ratings are written by the owner (Kristian Alexander) and his assistant (Jobert Sevilleno). My own experience has been good (my step-daughter took lessons there for a few months) largely because of the quality and experience of her teacher.I would also like to highlight that IMA's most recent award" as one of the top 100 educators in the world from the International Biographical Centre is not a real award and was purchased from a company that offers "a wide range of business support services

Myself, and my two kids, have been students at the IMA for a couple of years...The teachers are very professional, motivating, and well qualified, and seem to genuinely care about their student. The tuition fees are very reasonable and also the staff make every effort to accommodate the schedules of the student.

We have been with IMA for several years now and we have been having a great time learning piano, thanks to our teacher Ms. Marina Gregoriyan! She's very patient with my kids, she's very effective, knowledgeable (backed up with outstanding academic credentials) and just a truly awesome person. The IMA school at Markham is located strategically across the Markville Mall and the school has a very pleasant atmosphere. IMA does winter and summer recital-kind-of-concerts that are fun and exciting experience for the students and parents as well. I recommend this school for all its great merits.

the stouffville location is so small and they call this ant nest a school? very unprofessional. and the owner is very rude. dont go there. there are a lot of real music schools out there.

teacher is good but the school is so mean and ridiculous. They are still charging our tuition even we don't take the lesson. (they provide online lesson. but we don't want to take ). they told me they can only stop charging when you withdraw the kids. but the make up lesson are only for the registered students. that means if you withdraw them you have to waste the 9 classes since March. I have already email them to stop charging but they are still charging from my credit card. that is very very upset they did this unreasonable policy to the people who is suffering in this situation.

Place looks presentable but don't get fooled by their kindness and great teachers when you 1st start. The person you first meet isn't necessarily the person you'll have for a teacher. The person who eventually started teaxhing my child had a really strong accent and when asked to change teachers the other teacher equally had a strong accent as Well so there was no winning in this situation. There were times when the teacher wasn't even There for my childs lessons and when asked to have a reimbursements to be done it was such a hassle. Totally unprofessional and frustrating for they couldn't do such a simple request. The worst part of this experience is that there were several times that the teachers decided to chit chat while a lesson is going on. That was most certainly the last straw for us for that's such a dissapointment and one of the main reasons we left this place for another. Very disappointed at this place for we had high hopes that our child would eventually love the music world (which she now doesn't). We would never recommend this place to any family who is looking into putting their child here for lessons of any sort.

There is only one violin teacher. The last 2 sessions have been cancelled because the teacher left early. I had to advocate for make up lessens given I had paid for them. We were owed 1 make up and scheduled to come in for an hour to my surprise recieved a call while on route to not come because the violin teacher had to leave. The following week I dropped my daughter off for a make up and her regularly scheduled class to recieve a call to pick her up and bring her back the following week as scheduled. On the premise the teacher left because I had cancelled. Not true. Thankfully I requested an email and I had confirmation. Further I was instructed to bring her back for her 30 min session. But they failed to tell me that my daughter was now entitled to an additional make up lessen. Make sure you get everthing by email confirmation through this school. The music rooms are closed off tiny and no space comfortable for both student and teacher and not monitored. Police screening and reference checks does not secure your child's safety and I get the strong impression this is not their priority. You can hear singing, piano while violin class is occuring, there should be sound proofing of some kind. This company loves to charge your credit card, but they do not want to commit to make up lessens when entitled. I no longer trust them with access to charge my credit card. The owner of this school is never on site to actually personally touch base with parents for concerns or feed back. The young receptionist is usually at the desk. Never smiles and no effort is made to greet the students. Rolls her eyes when asked questions not to her liking. We are searching other schools as over all I am not satisfied. I do not recommend International Music Academy. We have used 3 other different music schools due to relocation purposes. Each of the schools were excellent. But experience for my daughter as a student at IMA has been very uncomfortable as she has a preference of a female teacher. Summer lessens as of yet have not happened. They are charging my credit card but not providing the lessens. And for me the customer service and business transactions are by far not to my satisfaction. Parent feed back is only welcomed providing it's positive. Otherwise they couldn't care less to hear suggestions or to explore why students and parents are not comfortable. I have also heard they write their own reviews to create an illusion they are the best school.
